Greetings Henderson Parents and Guardians!

Here is a quick summary of everything happening at Henderson during February!

Students all over the United States are coming together this February as part of a nationwide movement to build awareness against social isolation and empower students to create a culture of inclusion and kindness.

On Friday, February 23, 2018, we will share this message with our students and dive into activities. Together we will color our school green by participating in the following activities:

  • Wear GREEN
  • All students will receive a green Hello sticker and wrist band
  • During lunch –students will have the opportunity to take a photo in the green booth
  • Students will participate in group activitiesin the afternoon to promote inclusion and kindness
  • Finally, at 2:40 we will start our end of the month school wide celebration. Feel free to come by and see the fun!

NEA’s Read Across America is scheduled for the last week of February and ends on Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March2nd. This is a great time to celebrate the art of reading and snuggle up with a book – maybe even a Dr. Seuss book! Each day of the week we’ll have some fun using a Dr. Seuss book as inspiration.

Your children have been making fantastic progress! Please make sure you schedule a time with your child’s teacher to celebrate their growth and help develop the step in their journey!

We would like to thank our PTO for all they have done this year. So far, all of our field trips have been sponsored by our PTO. This is amazing!
