POSITION TITLE: House Manager
STATUS:Full-time Exempt
REPORTS TO:Facilities & Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The House Manager is responsible for supervising youth and all Transitional Living Program activities during their shift. Specifically, the House Manager takes referrals and completes intakes of new youth coming into Transitional Living Program, assists residents with basic priority needs, enforces Transitional Living Program rules, supervises volunteers, prepares/serves meals, and performs clerical functions including answering phones, required documentation, and greeting guests in the Transitional Living Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily operations of Transitional Living Program including: supervising youth, enforcing Transitional Living Program rules, ensuring a safe Transitional Living Program environment, administering medications as prescribed, assigning daily chores, coordination of recreational activities and life skills classes.
- Coordinate school attendance process, including: maintaining bus schedules, preparing bus routes, encouraging timely preparation for school, verifying student attendance and supervising daily study time for youth.
- Assist youth in preparation and service of meals.
- Complete referral and intake of new residents.
- Maintain appropriate records.
- Complete required documentation in timely manner.
- Maintain an orderly and clean environment.
- Attend all staff meetings and supervision meetings.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Treat all youth with dignity and respect.
- Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work and problem solve in crisis related environment.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation with full insurance coverage and working telephone for contact due to coverage of shift changes.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have physical exam and TB skin test within 30 days of employment
- Must have annual TB skin test
- Must complete and maintain CPR and First Aid Training (at employer’s expense)
- Must complete all criminal history and background checks prior to employment (at employer’s expense)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Sensitive to needs and issues of runaway, homeless and at-risk youth
- Experience in residential homeless services preferred
- Ability to supervise children and youth required.
- Bi-lingual (English /Spanish) preferred.
- Experience/ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences with children, staff, and the community is required.
EQUIPMENT
Ability to perform general operations with fax, copier, telephone, and other office machines is required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Transitional Living Program for runaway, homeless and at-risk youth. Due to the nature of Stopover, Inc., job responsibilities are subject to change. Employee must be able to adapt to new procedures as introduced.
