Innovative solutions for high-end Finishing
KAMA launches new solutions for commercial and packaging print finishing at the Drupa
Dresden, 4thApril 2012 – The German-based KAMA, specialist for finishing equipment, will be presentinginnovative solutions for commercial printers (both offset and digital) and packaging printers at their twin-booth in Hall 2 B 32 at Drupa 2012. The highly flexible new ProCut 76 die cutter will be the highlight in the “Commercial Centre” at the KAMA booth. Efficient off-line and inline packaging workflows will be demonstrated in the joint “Short Run Packaging Centre”with AB Graphic International.
High flexibility, great format
KAMA will launch the world’s first flat-bed die cutter for sheets up to 760x600mm, which is going to be presented in Düsseldorf with hot foil stamping system. The new ProCut76 has a dynamic design and boasts increased performance and higher cutting pressure, a universal chase for dies of all sizes of and goes perfectly e.g. with the Speedmaster XL75. The easy-to-handle die cutter provides a wide range of applications including cutting, creasing, perforating, kiss-cutting as well as cold embossing, hot foil stamping, combined embossing and hot foil, and hologram stamping. Changeover from hot foil stamping to die cutting at the ProCut 76 takes less than ten minutes. The new universal chase leads to further time savings during set-up.
Precision for digital print finishing
The newly developed KAMA AutoRegister for the ProCut 53 sets standards for die cutting and finishing with highest register precision in digital print finishing. The resourceful system catches slight register differences and quickly adjusts every single sheet to a printing mark. Crucial point: The KAMA AutoRegistergives digitally printed sheets a high-end finish – which is the door opener for today’s attractive but highly demanding packaging market. KAMA will show the AutoRegister at the stand of their partner HP Indigo in Hall 4 (label and packaging area) in a workflow with the new Indigo 5600 digital press and the ProCut 53 die cutter.
Groundbreaking news for folding and gluing
Must see at Drupa: In the “Short Run Packaging Centre” at their booth, KAMA will show the ProFold 74 folder-gluer for the first time tooled with pre-breaking device, cold glue application system and a long pressing belt. This is an ideal set-up for short-run packaging jobs such as straight-line boxes and folding cartons with crash-lock-bottom and makes the patented KAMA folder-gluer fit for the packaging market.
New applications for the ProFold 74 also include a creasing, cutting and perforating unit. The new module integrates these operations in the workflow prior to folding and gluing and works perfectly for jobs such as creased and folded greeting cards and blanks, cut and glued displays and response cards with perforation.
All new devices can be retrofitted to the ProFold 74 machines, which are installed in more than 20 countries, and make the machine the most flexible folder-gluer in commercial and packaging print finishing.
