Innovation in vibration analysis

Intelligent sensors and analysis algorithms for vibration and workload analyses of wind power plants, buildings an machines

The Munich-based company MEMSENSORS will present its intelligent sensors and efficient data analysis processes for measurement and assessment of mechanical vibrations for the first time at the special forum “Messtechnik in der Cloud” at the SENSOR+TEST 2016.

The developments of MEMSENSORS are based on the integration of modern MEMS technologies into proprietary sensor architecture. The robust and industry-fit sensors fulfill the IP65 classification and are therefore resistant against humidity, temperature -20°CC/+60°C, shock 10.000g and offer a high electromagnetic tolerance.

The wear-free operation of the sensors is ensured due to the lack of mechanical components.

The intelligent sensorics allows for an individual adaption of every sensor to requirements of measurement and customers and online calibration of the sensors in setup.

The special strengths of the Munich-based companys vibration analysis solutions is the low signal-to-noise-ratio in the significant frequence range between 0,1 and 10 Hz. Thus, the system fulfills the requirements of VDI directive 3834 “Measurement and assessment of mechanical vibrations in wind energy plants”.

Hereby, the reliable determination of the facility condition during ongoing operation is made possible by constant monitoring of the component frequencies and automatic result evaluation by modern analysis algorithms.

The robust system offers sustainable information on function, condition and wear of components, machines and structures by documentation of vibrationin load and idle state..

Predictive maintenance can shorten response time significantly! Timely recognition of a systems deviation towards its normal state can prevent costly complications, reduce downtimes and significantly increases the facility profitability.

3-axis accelerametor “3D ACC”

The multifunctional 3-axis accelerametor “3D ACC” with 16 bit resolution was developed by MEMSENSORS for precise vibration analysis applications in the low-frequency measurement range of 0.1 - 10 Hz. According to individual requirements, the sensor bandwith can be adjusted stepwise from 0.0-800 Hz. Additionally to acceleration, the component’s inclination can be measured with a resolution of 0.000001°.

“However”, says Dipl. Ing. Benjamin Krüger, founder and leader of the young company, “the most important unique feature of our MEMS-based vibration analysis sensorics is the ultra-low signal-to-noise ratio of 0.087 mg RMS/√Hz at a Output Data Rate of 100 Hz. The minimized measuring chain significantly lowers disturbances by environmental condition and offers a very robust and reliable solution.”

This sensor’s performance, combined with the proprietary evaluation algorithms and the integrated online monitoring solution that both reduce cost for service and maintenance, lead to an optimized and therefore economically effective product for stateful maintenance.

Another feature is the dispatch of SMS warnings when predefined or dynamic limits are exceeded-. This allows a quick response to fault condition for manufacturers, operators and owners.

Due to their compact construction form and flexible sensor architecture, MEMSENSORS sensors are not only suitable as an independent sensor, but also for simple integration into third party products for the “Internet of Things”.
