INNESTO CREATIVO in Fiesole

Saturday, January 21st, the Michelucci Foundation launches “INNESTO CREATIVO,” a sharing space of art and culture for Fiesole and Florence

On Saturday, January 21st, the Giovanni Michelucci Foundation, with the patronage of Comune di Fiesole, is proud to launch Innesto Creativo, as a crowdfunding campaign to open its beautiful and historical garden to the community for cultural activities, and to create important new relationships and experiences for the people.

The campaign is part of the Social Crowdfunders initiative promoted by Siamosolidali, a project of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, in collaboration with Guanxi (a Google partner helping companies to develop businesses), Impact Hub Firenze (a connecting network of young people, associations, and enterprises in the social innovation field) and Eppela, the first Italian crowdfunding platform based on rewards system.

Located on the hills of Fiesole, the garden of Villa Il Roseto offers one of the most beautiful views of Florence imaginable, but what it makes truly unique is its history. The villa was the home and studio of famous architect Giovanni Michelucci, one of the leading figures in contemporary architecture (Santa Maria Novella Train Station in Florence is his best-known), and now houses the Michelucci Foundation.

The Foundation will turn this private space in a common good for all, in line with Michelucci's vision of an open architecture for an open city.

From May to October 2017, the 1,500 square meters of the Michelucci Foundation of Fiesole will come to life with classical music concerts, painting and photography workshops, theatrical performances, and guided tours of Michelucci's art collection, original furniture designs, sketches, and architecture models.

These activities will be possible thanks to the collaboration of the following local organizations: Cartavetra (art gallery), Bottega Instabile (theatrical promotion), No Dump (association developing projects with recycled materials), Pomaio (participatory planning collective), Ark Kostruendo (Florence University of Architecture collective), and Quartetto Delfico (string quartet).

Participants will also include Annamaria Vassalle, as art director, and Manuel Salvietti, for the photography workshop.

To achieve its goals, the Michelucci Foundation is launching on January 21st, a crowdfunding campaign asking all citizens, families, and entrepreneurs to contribute to this social and cultural project for Fiesole and Florence.

How crowdfunding works:

The Michelucci Foundation will succeed in collecting € 10,000 through donations of individuals by March 2nd. Then the Fondazione CR Firenze will support the campaign by doubling the amount with a donation of 10,000 €. The collected funds will be entirely used for the redevelopment of the garden of Villa Il Roseto and the promotion of the cultural activities.

In the words of Giancarlo Paba, President of Fondazione Giovanni Michelucci:

"The idea of Michelucci was always to open the city: opening roads and buildings; opening prisons, schools, mental hospitals; opening the walls and abolishing the fences. The idea of opening the garden and the villa is consistent with Michelucci's vision of an open architecture for an open city. "

And from Anna Ravoni, Mayor of Fiesole:

"We consider the garden of Villa "Il Roseto" as part of the heritage of the city of Fiesole. We appreciate the initiative to restore it, to benefit the image of the Foundation Michelucci, and the entirety of Fiesole. "

And from Roberto Maggini, President of Fiesole Futura:

"The Michelucci Foundation is an absolute reference point for the cultural life of Fiesole and beyond. Fiesole Futura is honored to support this important initiative."

Innesto Creativo crowdfunding campaign will run from January 21st to March 1st at:
