Community School of Naples, Florida; an independent, PK-12, co-educational, college preparatory school, seeks an enthusiastic and visionary Director of Advancement with the background and experience to lead an ambitious, professional advancement program for our school and the community it serves. Interviews are expected to begin in early spring, 2018 and the start date is expected to be in July 2018.

Job Description and Requirements

Reporting directly to the Head of School, and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Advancement will build upon the success of Community School’s recent considerable fundraising successes. The successful candidate will bring best practices in advancement and provide the infrastructure, support, and resources to lead all campaigns, while leading and managing other aspects of CSN’s institutional advancement program. This person will engage the entire school community – including administration, alumni, parents, trustees, and faculty – in shaping strategy, priorities, structures, and plans for supporting a culture of philanthropy and growing revenue.

Community School seeks a highly talented, collaborative, and experienced Director of Advancement with a strong track record in major and principal gift fund raising. Experience in an independent school is preferred and experience in southwest Florida’s non-profit sector is beneficial. This position requires a minimum of five years’ experience in leading and managing staff; cultivating, soliciting, and closing principal gifts; delivering results within a campaign in an academic or comparable non-profit environment; and team-building in complex environments. A bachelor’s degree is required and higher level degrees will receive deeper consideration.

Compensation and Benefits

The appointment is a full-time, year round, administrative position paid on an annual salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment and other qualifications.
