Lane: This is the NRC reporting that a barge in transport near Paducah was struck by submerged debris from the aftershock of the Earthquake. A significant gash was torn in the side of the barge causing the release of a heavy brown- like oil which sank the barge. The crew didn’t realize that anything was leaking initially. Type of oil and amount is unknown. No injuries to report at this time.
