Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of the Operations Officer, provide technical, operational and procedural support and end-user services in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of information technology systems, procedures and activities in the office.

  • Documentation of help desk processes is maintained, assets records is up to date and always accessible
  • Assignments of additional duties and responsibilities are effectively performed

Candidate profile:

  • Completion of secondary education supplemented with formal training (at university level) in Computer Science, Business Administration or computer related certification.
  • Six years of practical professional work experience in information technology, as well as systematic methods of troubleshooting and analytical problem solving, providing assistance to users on ICT products and services, and use of applications and diagnostic tools.
  • Practical knowledge of software development methodologies, computer programming, information management, data processing applications, database development, network administration, data communications, telecommunications, hardware and software installation, service management, end-user assistance, preparation of end-user documentation and manuals.
  • Practical experience with various computer platforms and applications: operating systems, email and database systems, Office 365, Help Desk software, advanced PC/laptop/printer installation, configuration, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Knowledge of Help Desk tools and processes.
  • Practical knowledge of Service Delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of Window Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, active directory services, network operating systems platforms.
  • Systems roll outs and implementation in large scale ICT environment.
  • Practices and principles of systems support.
  • Practices and principles of ICT analysis, planning, design, implementation and problem resolution.
  • Trends in information technologies and services management.
  • Fundamental working knowledge of TCP/IP in an Ethernet Local/Wide Area Network environment.
  • Knowledge of radio communication VHF, HF and Satcoms (Iridium, BGAN)
  • Knowledge of SAP (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards of services support (desirable)
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Strong commitment to UNICEF’s mission and mandate.
