Information about IELTS in Lund

Folkuniversitetet in cooperation with The British Council, Cambridge English and IDP Education Australia offers the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Lund. IELTS tests all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. You can take IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training – depending on the organization you are applying to and your plans for the future.

Please refer to the “Information to candidates” brochure. If you want to apply for IELTS, please do so via the online registration system. You will find the link here; https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/folkuniversitetet.

To register for the IELTS Test you should:

1. Enter your personal data into the online registration system. You will be offered the option of whether you wish to upload a copy of your passport or ID document during the application process, or send it to us by email or post. Please make sure the document you upload or send us conforms to the following:

·  a clearly legible copy of either your valid passport including picture and signature page OR your national ID card (EU nationals only) - whichever you used to apply for the test. Accepted Swedish national ID card is the one issued by the Swedish police. Driving licence is not accepted. Your scanned document must be in JPEG, GIF or PNG format. The dimensions must be smaller than 1600 by 1600 pixels and the file size should be 1.5MB or less.

2. If you do not upload your identity document you need to send

·  a clearly legible copy of either your valid passport including picture and signature page OR your national ID card (EU nationals only) - whichever you used to apply for the test. Accepted Swedish national ID card is the one issued by the Swedish police. Driving licence is not accepted.

To arrive on the 5th day after registering for the test at the latest.

3. Transfer the required fee according to the instructions given in the confirmation e-mail

received immediately after registering for the test. Fee; 2500 SEK.

4. When the documents and payment have been received, you will be sent a confirmation via e-mail.

5. You will receive the FULL address of your test venue and further test day information via e-mail. This information will be sent to you approx. 10 days before your test date.

There is no refund if you cancel or change your preferred date less than 3 weeks before the test date. If cancellation or absence is due to illness you will be given a refund less an administration fee of 700 SEK. The test consists of four parts, each of which is graded on a scale of 1-9.

The score for each paper is published on your Test Report Form, along with an overall result.

The test can take up most of the day. Listening, Reading, Writing will take roughly 3 hours. Speaking will be scheduled at 20-minute intervals in the afternoon after the first three tests. Please allow for the fact that your interview may come either earlier or later in the afternoon depending on the number of candidates sitting the test.

The results of the IELTS test will be sent to you from Folkuniversitetet 13 days after the test date. On the same day you will be able to access your result online – for this you will need your ID number and candidate number (given to you on the test day). The results are posted to you, the candidate and directly to five educational institutions of your choice free of charge. If you would like the results to be sent to more than five institutions, there will be an additional charge of 75 SEK for each additional address.
