Imperialism Political Cartoon –

Draw a political cartoon that elaborates on one or more of the issues associated with Imperialism and Industrialization. Your cartoon should focus on actual reasons for imperialism and problems it causes, however the cartoon may be comedic in nature.

Letter to President Donald Trump –

Write a letter to President Donald Trump either defending or condemning the actions of Transnational Corporations worldwide. Consider the positive effects of these entities, as well as the people and places hurt by their actions. Your letter should be in the correct format and tone for a letter of this nature and should be roughly one page in length.

Henry Ford Interview (one page) –

Imagine that you are a writer for the Economist and you have been sent back in time to interview the legendary Henry Ford. Your interview should contain an introduction explaining who Henry Ford is along with why he is being interviewed. In your interview, you should ask Mr. Ford at least 4 questions and include his response. By the end, your interview should be roughly one page in length. Make sure your questions and answers are relevant and accurate to the task at hand.

Public Service Announcement: Consumption Problems –

As a concerned citizen, you feel it is your duty to inform the public about the startling trends in resource and environmental consumption occurring in the world today. You will create a Public Service Announcement Flier telling the world about this issue. Your PSA may be written in the form of a descriptive paragraph, a song, an infomercial, or a picture with captions. Make sure to include facts and analysis to strengthen your PSA’s credibility and convince the world that changes need to be made.

Industrialization FRQ –

Answer the following questions in complete, well-written sentences. While a formal essay is not required, it is not enough to answer a question by merely listing facts. Illustrate your examples with substantive geographic examples where appropriate.

Question: Some Segments of the U.S. Technology Industry heavily use offshoring for tasks such as programming and technology support

  • What does off shoring mean?
  • Explain the relationship between the front office and the back office that exists in technology businesses that use offshoring.
  • Give and explain three reasons why India might be a preferred destination for U.S. technology industry offshoring.

Economic Sectors Trading Cards –

Use index cards to create trading cards for three of the five economic sectors. On one side write the name of the sector with an illustration. On the other side, write the name of the sector and explain the sector, elaborating on countries we can find the sector and where in the DTM a country relying on the sector may fall.

Journal Entry from an Assembly Line Worker (one half page) –

You are going to write a journal entry as an individual that work on the assembly line in a factory either today or in the early 20th century. Your entry should explain specific examples of how you are affected on a daily basis.

Additionally, you should explain the positives and negatives of your life as a worker on the assembly line in a large industrial factory.

Industrial Advertisement for a New Factory –

You are going to create an advertisement for a new factory that has been built in a newly industrializing country. You advertisement should explain that positive aspects of your factory. Make sure your advertisement includes the name of the factory, and image of the factory, the description, and an explanation for why it is located where it is based on Weber’s Least Cost Model.

Postcard Cover –

Choose one of the cities from around the world that is a prime example of Industrialization. Create a postcard depicting what the place may look like today, or what it may have looked like during the birth of the Industrial Revolution. Make sure the postcard has the name of your city along with the images.
