/ Students submit a design folio outlining their initial research and ideas for their major project. They must submit a Statement of Intent, Record of Activities, as well and sketches and planning fore their project. / Development of the folio, including the essential aspects of presentation. The folio task forms the basis of their HSC documentation. / The Preliminary course provided a good grounding in the basics of project management, with the required use of Gantt Charts and other planning tools, as well as ongoing folio development.

/ Students research the operations of a business in the Multimedia industry and document their findings. This documentation is presented as a team project. / This unit gets students to investigate and document the operations of a business operating within the multimedia industry. These operations are viewed in the light of the specified BOS requirements for the industry study. / Prelim course also had students doing an industry study. The students will be familiar with the essential concepts of the industry study.

/ Students use this task as a checkpoint to ensuring their major portfolio is on track. They should be well underway in ensuring that essential elements of the folio are covered and evident. / A continuation of the folio, documenting the ongoing development of the major project, including time planning, development and documentation. / Folio development skills developed during the Prelim year and also as an ongoing project during the HSC year.

/ This checkpoint is a chance to test, evaluate and review the ongoing progress of the major project.
The opportunity exists for quality control processes, testing and review before the work must be finalized in anticipation of its final submission for the HSC examiners. / The bulk of the HSC course is based on the construction of a major multimedia project of the students own choice. Through this project work, the key concepts of project development, quality control and workflow management can be obtained through first hand experience in dealing with a large multimedia development project. / The major project builds on the key skills developed during the Prelim year.

/ Students where encouraged to set a timeframe for their project by completing/ designing a Gantt chart. Investigate the use of industry standard project planning tools such as Microsoft Project. Used in a sophisticated manner, this tool create not only Gantt Charts, but Calendar views, resource lists, progres charts, etc. It can however, be used in a basic way to create effective Gantt Charts.
