Project (Home)

Objective: The student will create and implement a project related to the research topic that will share the information with a greater audience and/or perform a community service activity,

Share your research with people outside the Short Pump community

Document what you have done with a summary, artifacts and photos

Write your opinion about your project

Learn from an expert (Email at home and/or visit to a site)

Objective: _The student will connect with a person involved with the topic in order to give more insight into the topic.

Communicate with an expert by email

Ask questions that would not be found in a non-fiction source

Ask opinions or personal story

Write a brief bio of the expert

Summarize information learned from the expert

Narrative Essay (School)

Objective:The student will reflect on all the activities involved in completing this project.

Presentation (complete at home- present at school)

Objective: The student will present the results of the research to teach others about the topic and gain experience creating a display and communicating with others.

Display board with the following:

Title with the essential question

Highlights of your research with bullet points or short statements

Images and graphics related to your research

Short summary of information from the expert

Brief bio of the expert

Images and summary of the project

Narrative essay

Artifact of your research: object movie or powerpoint or website

TED talk (complete at school and practice at home)

Objective: The student will present information learned in the research in a two minute prepared speech.
