Incremental Teaching Plan
Week 1 (Aug 14-18) Observe, participate, instruct. Learn the daily schedule and
student names.
Week 2 (Aug 21-25) Start taking role and lunch options. Get materials ready for
centers. Direct Literature Circles.
Week 3 (Aug 28-Sept 1) Take role, lunch options, and order forms ---- Morning
routine. Lead Daily Oral Language (DOL).
Week 4 (Sept 4-8) Morning Routine. Lead DOL. Teach one reading lesson
plan in the afternoon section.
* Video tape one lesson plan.*
Week 5 (Sept 11-15) Morning Routine. Lead DOL. Teach one reading lesson
plan in the morning and afternoon section.
Week 6 (Sept 18-22) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach
two reading lesson plans in the morning and afternoon section.
SECOND OBSERVATION
Week 7 (Sept 25-29) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach
two reading lesson plans and one language arts lesson plan to the morning and afternoon section. Proctor for the ITBS, and participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Week 8 (Oct 2-6) Full Time Teaching Plan and Curriculum Unit. Teach two
reading lesson plans and two language arts lesson plan to
the morning and afternoon section.
THIRD OBSERVATION / MID-TERM CONFERENCE
Week 9 (Oct 9-13) Full Time Teaching Plan and Curriculum Unit. Teach two
reading lesson plans and two language arts lesson plan to
the morning and afternoon section.
Week 10 (Oct 16-20) Slowly start to work my way back out. Teach two reading lesson plans and one language arts lesson plan to the morning and afternoon section.
FOURTH OBSERVATION
Week 11 (Oct 23-27) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach one reading lesson plan and one language arts lesson plan to the morning and afternoon group.
Week 12 (Oct 30-Nov 3) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach one reading lesson plan to the morning and afternoon group.
FIFTH OBSERVATION
Week 13 (Nov 6-10) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach one reading lesson plan to the morning and afternoon group.
Week 14 (Nov 13-17) Morning Routine. Lead DOL and Literature Circles. Teach one reading lesson plan to the morning group.
SIXTH OBSERVATION
Week 15 (Nov 20-24) Morning Routine. Holiday Nov 22-24
Week 16 (Nov 27-Dec 1) Reflect, thank, and say goodbye.
