Students that choose to break the class rules will be subject to the following consequences:

1st Teacher documentation – parent signature required (PSR), disciplinary action noted, verbal warning

3rd Teacher documentation – PSR, parent phone call home, parent conference if needed

4th Teacher documentation – PSR, disciplinary action noted, refer to School Counselor

5th Teacher documentation – PSR, letter sent home, disciplinary action noted, parent conference

6th Administrative Documentation - Student will be sent to the Administration for disciplinary action.

Written notes between parents and team can be sent in the student’s agenda book. The student should show the note to the intended person. The intended person will initial the note verifying the note was received.

Infinite Campus:

Student progress will be tracked using Infinite Campus (offering parents with computer access, real time access to their child’s school information). To utilize this system, parents MUST pick up their Infinite Campus access code; this will require parents to show proof of identification when picking up the code. Because Infinite Campus information is confidential, pass codes cannot be distributed without ID verification.

Field Trips:

Field trips will follow SBDM council policy.

Lost and Found:

Each teacher will designate a lost and found area. Articles left in the hallways will be removed and can be located in the concession area lost and found.

Lockers:

Students will be permitted at their lockers between each class and before lunch if needed.

For all other trips to the lockerstudents must get permission from their teacher and carry a signed agenda.

Morning Routine:

  1. Upon arrival to school, bus riders will enter the building through the back cafeteria doors and walkers/car riders will through the front entry of the school.

(DOORS WILL BE OPENED AT 7:00 AM)

  1. In the front lobby, there will be a table for absence and bus notes which needs to be taken care of before arriving in the team area.
  1. In the front lobby, there will also be a table with a counselor and/or an administrator for students who need to schedule an appointment, receive an elevator pass, and/or address any student concern. Agendas will only be sold in the morning at the counselor table.
  1. Once students have completed I and II or III as necessary:

a)Students wishing to eat breakfast will report immediately to the cafeteria. Students will go directly through the breakfast linebeforearriving in team area. After breakfast, students will report to their team area.

b)Students not participating in our breakfast program will report directly to the team area.

c)Students will not be permitted to leave the team area after they have arrived there.

d)Students will go to their lockers first and gather all materials needed for core classes.

e)Students will then proceed to your first period classroom.

f)ONCE YOU ARE IN YOUR FIRST PERIOD CLASSROOM YOU MUST REMAIN THERE. The only way you will be permitted to leave is with teacher permission and a signed agenda.

While exiting the building, students will walk to their designated exits and will continue to walk to their designated lot.

First Wave – First wave bus riders (North Lot) and car riders (South Lot)

Second Wave- Walkers and second wave bus riders (Cafeteria)

Third Wave- Third wave bus riders (North Lot)

All students participating in after school activities will be dismissed to their designated areas at third wave call.

Transition to Class:

AT NO TIME will astudent be permitted in a classroom without getting teacher permission. Students will be expected to line up outside the teacher’s classroom in an orderly manner unless the teacher is ready to admit the new class into the room.

Emergency Drills:

Emergency Drills will be conducted in silence to assure the safety of the school population.

Tornado, Earthquake and Lock Down Drills - students will remain silentas they evacuate using the route posted in the classroom

Fire Drills:

I. Students are to remain silent during evacuation.

II. Follow evacuation route posted in the classroom.

III.While outside, students will remain silent at the teacher’s designated location, until roll has been taken and then they make talk quietly.

IV.Teachers will take roll from roster located in the emergency bag.

IF A STUDENT IS IN THE BUILDING, AWAY FROM THEIR ASSIGNED CLASS, THE STUDENT IS TO EVACUATE THROUGH THE NEAREST EXIT. ONCE OUTSIDE, ANY STUDENT EXITING THE FRONT SHOULD REPORT TO THE FLAGPOLE. STUDENTS EXITING THROUGHT THE BACK OF THE BUILDING SHOULD REPORT TO THE STONE SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL. STUDENTS EXITING THE SOUTH OR NORTH SIDES OF THE BUILDING SHOULD REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE TICKET BOOTHS LOCATED ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF THE PARKING LOTS, WHERE AN ADULT (WITH A RADIO) WILL MEET STUDENTS TO TAKE THEM TO A SAFE LOCATION.

Lunch room rules:

1. Remain seated at assigned table.

2. Use restroom only when released to cafeteria line.

3. Use quiet conversational voice.

4. Use good manners.

5. Remain seated and raise hand for assistance.

6. Keep your table and floor area clean and garbage free.

7. Empty tray when instructed and return directly to your seat.

8. Food and cafeteria items must remain in the cafeteria.

At the end of lunch, your teacher will pick you up and escort you back to class. Do not exit the cafeteria without your teacher. You must remain quiet and in a straight line returning from lunch in order not to disturb classes in progress.

Restroom Breaks:

  • You can go to the restroom during lunch.
  • You can go in between classes.
  • You may use the restroom in the morning after you have reported to your homeroom with teacher permission.

If using the restroom you will not carry your agenda but, students must:

  • Agenda book signed by classroom teacher
  • Sign the “Sign Out” sheet in the classroom
  • Leave agenda by the “Sign Out” sheet
  • Wear the restroom pass
  • Sign back in upon return from the restroom

NOTE: **All grade level restrooms will be locked at 2:15 p.m. **

The restroom outside the clinic will be available for emergencies after 2:15. Please follow the standard hallway procedure when sending a student. Concession area restrooms will be unlocked after the last bus leaves the lot for after school activities.

You will need a signed agenda at all times when traveling in the hallways during school hours with the exception of carrying the RestroomPass.

Agendas:

You will be issued an agenda to be used everyday. Every teacher will post the daily agenda in their classroom. You must copy this into the agenda everyday. If you tear apart the first agenda or lose your agenda, you will need to purchase a new one.

Absences:

You must stop at the main lobby table in the morning before going to your first period classroom. A staff member will issue you a note.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET MISSING WORK on the FIRST DAY you return from the absence. You will be permitted to go to the teachers from 7:00 – 7:30 to copy the agenda for the day(s) you missed. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to collect any papers or material needed to complete the missing assignments. After you get your absence slip signed, hand it in to your last class teacher. You will have one day for each day you were absent to make up the missing work.

If you have to leave during the school day, you are not to disrupt the teachers for work. You can get the work when you return the next school day or if the same day if time permits at the end of the day during bus wave transitions.

Homework Hotline:

Homework for each day can be accessed via Campbell County Middle School webpage ( and clicking on each teacher’s website.

Late work:

This work can be made up in any of the following ways: Wednesday school or school detentions. Students may earn up to 80% credit on missing assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements to make up work and obtain all the necessary materials.

Grading Periods:

Students will be given report cards three times a year, every twelve weeks. Progress reports will be sent home during the middle of each grading period for students

Student Progress and Grading Scale:

To be promoted a student must pass with a yearly average of 64.5%, ¾ of their core classes along with 2/3 of their Encore classes per year as described below:

  • He/she must pass 3 of 4 core subjects: English, Math, Science, Social Studies
  • He/she must pass 2 of 3 Encore classes

Parents/guardians will receive prior notification during the third quarter of possible retention; if the parents or guardians wish, they may schedule a conference.

Grading Scale

A+ 99% or better

A 95 % - 98%

A- 93% - 94%

B+ 90% - 92%

B 87% - 89%

B- 85% - 86%

C+ 82% -84%

C 76% - 81%

C- 73% - 75%

F 64% or lower

Student Led Academic Conferences:

The tentative dates for Student Led Academic Conferences are September 30 and February 17. Parents/guardians and students will be expected to attend the conference together to strengthen or create positive lines of communication. Below are the expectations for both students and parents.

Parent/Guardian Expectations:

  • To attend the conference
  • To listen to their child
  • To have a positive dialogue about the work presented by the student
  • Ask the teacher questions after the student has led them through the portfolio presentation

Student Expectations:

  • Set goals before the conference
  • Create portfolios
  • Choose work samples
  • Self evaluate the pieces chosen
  • Practice the script to follow the evening of the parent conferences

Bullying Policy:

Anti-Bullying Policy Statement

All students’ behavior is based upon self-respect and consideration of the rights of others. Students have the responsibility to know and respect the rules of the school. Teachers and administrators have the responsibility to be sure that all students know and understand the rules. All teachers shall enforce and promote such discipline that is in the best interest of the pupils and the school.

Bullying behavior is not tolerated at school. Bullying behavior is defined as unfair and one-sided. Bullying happens when someone keeps hurting, frightening, threatening, or leaving someone out on purpose. Bullying also includes conduct such as drawing inappropriate, unwelcome or cruel cartoons or caricatures, inappropriate jokes, or any conduct that could be considered verbal abuse.

Cell Phone Policy:

Per SBDM policy, all cell phones are to remain off and in student lockers ALL day. Any student caught with a cell phone will receive consequences per CCMS Handbook.

2. According to Site-Base Policy, students may view movies that are rated G without parental permission. To watch movies rated PG or PG -13 that enhance or enrich our curriculum, we need your permission.
