Centralia College Baseball

Incoming/Returning Player Checklist

First, we want to thank you for having an interest in the Centralia College Baseball program. The following things need to be done before fall practice begins September 4th. Only players who have completed these items will be available to participate at the beginning of our Fall Ball season. Fall Ball will last until November 15th. During this time, you will get instruction in the game of baseball along with playing in many games. The following needs to be completed:

·  Make sure you have applied to and been accepted by Centralia College. If you have not done so already, an application can be downloaded from www.centralia.edu. Applying online is probably the easiest and the most time convenient way to do this.

·  Next, fill out the FAFSA (Financial Aid). Again, this can be filled out online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Centralia College requires all student athletes to fill this out so please get it done ASAP. Once it has been received by Centralia College they will contact you with a packet informing you of whether or not you qualify for financial aid.

·  You must also complete the Compass Test (incoming freshmen only). This test is a placement test that can be taken at any of the community colleges around the state. Therefore, if you take it at a college other than Centralia, make sure your results are sent here. Once this has be completed you can get into an orientation session and get registered for classes.

·  Make sure you have a physical examination before Fall Ball begins. You can download the Physical Form at: http://www.centralia.edu/athletics/sports/baseball/index.html. Print it out, fill out the information on the first page, and have your doctor fill out the rest.

·  Register for Baseball Fundamentals – PE166A (Freshmen) or Advanced Baseball Fundamentals – PE 266 (Sophomores). Remember, you need at least 12 credits to be eligible to play athletics in college.

·  There is a $20 player fee to participate in Fall Ball. This fee needs to be paid to the Sports Programs Office – not the Registrar. Checks can be made out to CC Baseball Fund. You can mail the fee to:

Centralia College

Sports Programs Office

600 Centralia College Blvd.

Centralia, WA 98531

Or drop it off in person at the Health & Wellness Center at 400 Walnut St., room #119. Make sure you indicate for whom the check is intended.

Again, we are very excited that you are interested to become a member of our program and look forward to getting out on the field in the fall.

Sincerely,

Coach Jake LeDuc
