In The Pack - Inclusion Officer
‘In the Pack’ is Sharks Community Trust’s inclusion programme which will deliver a range of disability rugby activities to schools and community groups across the North West including both wheelchair rugby and inclusive tag.
To help deliver and manage the programme, Sharks Community Trust is looking to recruit an Inclusion Officer to manage the programme and an Inclusion Coach to help assist the Inclusion Officer.
The Inclusion Officer will manage and develop the Sharks Community Trust Inclusion Programme.
Position details
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £18k plus car allowance
Reports to: Community Development Manager

Key responsibilities
· Coordinate all delivery aspects of the Inclusion Programme, including: wheelchair rugby, Inclusive Tag and walking rugby.
· To create and establish strong relationships with stakeholders including other organisations working with disabled groups and create links with grassroots clubs to allow individuals the opportunity to progress within their sport.
· Manage the delivery of awareness workshops that aim to focus on heightening the profile of the Inclusion Programme and the benefits of taking part in the programme.
· Organise and deliver coach education sessions to train and develop a workforce for each delivery site to ensure the longevity and sustainability of the Inclusion Programme.
· Plan and co-ordinate awareness sessions at Sale Sharks home matches to build awareness of the Inclusion Programme.
· Ensure monitoring and evaluation is completed, to ensure that the progress / impact of any project with the Inclusion Programme is reported to key funders in a timely and effectively manner. This includes the use of regular registers and the Views platform.
· To create, further develop and manage the strategic direction of the Inclusion programme, aligned with requirements of the funding partners.
· To work with the Community Development Manager to actively seek to identify funding opportunities and successfully attain them to bolster the Inclusion Programme
· To manage the Inclusion Coach and other staff when necessary.
· To manage all media and communication aspects to the programme including developing media releases to ensure key funders are receiving adequate recognition regarding their support to the Inclusion Programme.
· To assist in other areas of Sharks Community Trust, where necessary, this may include match days, rugby camps and delivery of other Trust programmes and will include working evenings and weekends.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience;
Essential
· Minimum of NGB Level 2 coaching award
· Coaching Disabled People Award
· A proven track record of the successful implementation of disability specific sporting provision.
· Experience of working with underrepresented groups of people in sport and physical activity.
· Experience of sports development
· Experience of developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders in other organisations
· An enthusiastic and committed individual who will ‘go the extra mile’ to deliver results
· Good organisation and time management skills
· Excellent communication and motivation skills
· Knowledge of funding streams.
· Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
· An ability to inspire others
Desirable
· Educated to degree level or equivalent
· Coach development qualification
· Additional qualifications related to disability sport.
· Driving license and access to own vehicle
· Experience of securing project funding through a variety of sources.
The successful candidate will have to undergo an enhanced DBS check to work with children and vulnerable adults. Employment within Sharks Community Trust is conditional on a clear check being received.
