Subject: Freedom of Information Request – HR and Payroll Structure and Systems
Dear Graeme
In response to your FOI query dated 16 January 2015, please find below answers to your questions.
Question
Dear Derbyshire County Council,
1. I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act for a departmental structure of the HR and Payroll department within the council.
2. Please can you also advise which Recruitment / Hr / Payroll / finance system you use?
3. Is the council considering changing any of these systems?
4. Do you have online Performance Management and Expense Claims.
5. Please can you confirm names, email addresses and where possible telephone numbers of senior management within the directorate.
Thank you very much.
Your faithfully
Graeme Illingworth
Response.
1. We do not have a copy of the departmental structure. I can inform you that the HR Division (which comprises the payroll function) is made up as follows:
Function / Employees in postDirector of HR / 1

Management Development / 1
HR Organisational Development / 4
HR Shared Services Centre / 106 (plus 40 business services relief employees)

The figures above equate to 176 FTEs. Please note that our payroll function is incorporated within the HR Shared Services Centre, and also includes some of the pensions function.
