BIOGRAPHY

In his 35+ years in theindustry, John has beeninvolved in virtually every aspect of insurance and reinsurance company operations. He has held senior management positions in both Marketing and Underwriting, and has astrong understanding of the integral parts of running a successful insurance company; assessing capital needs anddesigningreinsurance solutions;managing teams of people; leading turnaround situations; and exhibiting strong written and oral communication skills.

John started his career with the Royal Insurance Company and became the youngest officer in the Company in 9 years. He became Chief Underwriting Officer of a jointfacility of7 major insurers thatwrote surplus lines business and then briefly worked with a Bermuda reinsurer that specialized in captive related products.Hejoined General Reinsurance Corporation (part of the Berkshire Hathaway Group) in 1987,wherehe enjoyed a successful 25-year career in business development. John developed business relationships with over 50 CEO's and their senior management teams resulting in significant revenue income for Gen Re. While at Gen Re, healso wrote and taught Marketing, Leadership and Annual Statement Analysis seminars. John has been a sought after industry speaker for CEO Round Tables, insurancecompany Board of Directors, and industry underwriting, marketing and claim associations.

John has beenactively involved in helping companies find mergers and acquisitions, senior management talent, andsolutions for books of business thatare unprofitable or no longer considered "core". He has alsoworkedwith many companies on interpreting their AM Best BCAR exhibits and developing strategies to improve their capital and risk position. John’s insight and experience in the industry has proven especially valuable in helpingcompanies that want to grow their business and/orturn around their"bottom line"results. In the past year he has developed anumber of primary insurance companyand vendor consulting clients. John is a founding partner of SFC Consulting.

John graduated from Lafayette College witha BA in Psychology and a Teaching Certification. Since then he has attended numerous leadership courses including the College of Insurance Management Program, and holds theCertified Insurance Counselordesignation. He is on the Board of Directors ofa primary insurer andof the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis/Buoniconti Fund.
