Tournament Announcements

In an attempt to get our tournaments started even faster, please review the

Information below in lieu of the morning meeting. After registration is

complete, pool schedules will be read so that play can begin promptly. Please share this document with your partner.

Cancelling or Modifying your Registration: If you will not be able to make it to the tournament or are playing with a different partner, please email r text 518-477-3334 so tournament staff can update this information. If you do not show up or notify us of cancellation prior to 8:00 a.m., the team will be responsible for paying the full entry fee before playing in a future event.

Parking/Directions:

Directions

Parking is at the end of Kiwanis Way. Please do not park at Jumpin’ Jacks. For tournaments at the Meadows, you may park in the small lot to your right after turning onto Kiwanis.

Checkin: When you arrive to the park in the morning, please report to the registration desk to checkin/pay. A $5 late fee per player will be assessed for players that show up after registration ends. Please help us start on time. If you are running late and still plan on playing, please text (518-477-3334) to let us know so that your team will not be removed from your division.

Insurance:OCD Volleyball has purchased event insurance for all players this year. No more registration forms and $20 fees. Players do need to sign a waiver of liability to play in our events. This must only be signed once per season. You can find the form here:

Weather: In case of bad weather, a decision will be made by 7:30 a.m. The decision to cancel or delay will be posted on the OCD Volleyball Facebook page.

Playing schedule/net assignment: We will not be able to tell you the playing schedule until pools are read. There will be a map that shows what courts we plan to use for each division so that you have a general idea of where to set up your stuff. Please note that late starts are reserved for tournament staff and volunteers and we cannot accommodate player schedules in advance.

Warm-up Time: Time between matches is not to exceed 5 minutes. Teams that are off are expected to pepper before hand and use the warm-up time for hitting. Each player will be confined to 5 hits and 3 serves during warm-ups.

Lunch: OCD Volleyball provides lunch and water for all players. You will need to bring your own bottle or cup. This is for players only.

Bathroom: The bathrooms are located in a green building between the lake and the check-in area. At the Meadows, if the mobile trailer is not available, players may use the bathrooms located between the baseball fields.

Prizes and Playoffs:Number of teams breaking pool will be written on all pool sheets. In case of a tie, no team will be eliminated from playoffs based on points or head to head results unless otherwise noted. We award prizes to the first and second place teams in each division. In divisions with 3 pools or more, we award prizes to semifinalists as well. If you have any questions regarding playoff seeding or play-ins, please see a tournament director immediately. Once a playoff game begins, no changes will be made.

Player and Spectator Conduct: We expect all participants at our events to show sportsmanship at all times. Those who have shown they are not capable of this will be sanctioned and possibly asked to leave our event on the spot. Please see our Player and Spectator Code of Conduct on the website.
