IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ANNUAL

REGISTRATION AND BACK-to-SCHOOL EVENTS

Dear Denton ISD Families:

The district is excited to announcethat we will use a new online student registration system called infosnap for the upcoming school year. Infosnapwill allow parents to complete the annual student registration process from anywhere they can connect to the Internet including from home, work, and even the Denton Public Library. We believe that online registration will streamline the back-to-school process, saving parents time and energy, while ensuring that our schools have all of the necessary information for each child.

From July 19-26, all current Denton ISD families with a valid email address in the district’s student database will receive an email from the district/infosnap with instructions on how to access the online registration system. The emails will contain a link with a secure “snapcode” that will take you directly to your student’s information. You will then create an account – that you will use each year to complete this process – and submit a registration form for each student in your family. All necessary registration forms will be included in the infosnap process along with links to the applications for transportation and free/reduced lunch.

The new, simplified registration process for secondary students entering grades 6-12 includes four steps:

  • May - June18, 2013 - Verify that your email is up to date in our student information database. Each campus conducted a verification drive in May by email and phone and on progress reports. Contact your (2012-2013) school’s main office by June 18, 2013 if you still need to update your email information. By guaranteeing your email address in our database is correct, you are ensuring you will receive the most up-to-date information regarding infosnap and registration.
  • July 19 – August 5, 2013 - Complete the online registration processusing the snapcode you will receive by email during this same timeframe.
  • Early August, 2013 - Print the infosnap verification form and deliver it along with your current proof of residency (lease, mortgage coupon, or current water/gas/electric bill) and a valid Texas ID that shows your Denton ISD address OR, a valid Texas ID and two of the preceding proofs of residency to your child’s school. This can be done in person, U.S. mail, fax, or email.

  • Students will be placed on class lists after the online registration process is completed. Postcards with students new class assignment will be mailed during the week of August 19. A Back to School Fair will take place on August 23, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. where students can meet their new teacher.
