Learn how to:

* Import a basic word document into Duxbury.

* Translate the document to Braille.

* Adjust any format errors.

* Emboss (braille) the document.

_____1. Write in or open your word document.

_____2. Click the "Add Ins" button.

_____ 3. Click the "DBT" choice.

_____ 4. Click "Duxbury Braille". A message may come up that says "This document must be saved before it can be sent to DBT. Do you wish to save it now?" Select yes and save it wherever you want it saved and title it whatever you want it titled.

_____ 5. Click "English American Literary Standard". Then, click the "ok" button.

_____ 6. The print document will be displayed in the Duxbury program.

_____ 7. Translate to Braille. Click "Translate" under the file menu or use "control t".

_____ 8. The Document will display in braille.

_____ 9. Insert a blank line between the title and the document. I used the "enter" key.

_____ 10. Lists is a common style that can be used, but there are many others available. Here is an example of how to use lists so that everything is on the left flush. Follow the next 3 steps to walk you through this process.

* Select the document portion that you want "lists" to be used with.

* Under Layout, click "Apply Style".

* Select "List" and click "OK".

_____ 11. Emboss the document. Under the File Menu, select "Emboss". Control e is the keyboard command if you would rather use it.

_____ 12. Click "ok" to continue.

_____ 13. Save your document if needed.
