1. Students will receive an “I” on an assignment not turned in, incomplete, unsatisfactorily completed, or receives a grade less than a 65%. One or more “I”s will result in an “I” grade for any report period. For example, if a student has an “A” or “B” average and has only one missing assignment, if the student does not complete the assignment, he/she would receive an “I” for the grading period. After 5 weeks, if the work is never made up or completed to a minimum 65% the “I” turns to an “F” for the assignment or term.
2. Students do not receive a zero when work isn’t turned in; they receive an “I” until the work is completed satisfactorily, at least a 65%. Students will stay before/after school, attend Café Ketchup, attend Saturday School to complete work, or complete the work at home.
3. Once the students receive an “I”, the students are required to revise/redo work to get it at least to the “basic” or “D” level (65%).
4. Students cannot receive an “A” on any assignment that is late or turned in incomplete. Students may be penalized 10% to 20% on the assignment.
5. Students who need extra help sessions must meet with their teacher and can request before/after school help.
6. Teachers are required to give students opportunities to retake a test if the student receives a grade lower than a 65%.
7. An “I” on a report card will be considered an “F” when determining if a student qualifies for certain student activities, field trips, NJHS, etc.
8. Class Rank and Grade Point Average will be impacted by an “I”. Make sure to complete all work before grades close so there will be no issues in these areas. Honor roll will be run at the end of each quarter.
