“IF PAUL DIDN’T SAY IT THEN YOU SHOULDN’T DO IT OR TEACH IT”

By Perry Demopoulos

The above title is also worded as such, “We speak where Paul speaks and we are silent where Paul is silent.” That is the saying of Hyper-Dispensationalists or “Ultra”-Dispensationalists “Dry Cleaners” (who deny water baptism for this age) who think that if Paul doesn’t mention something in his epistles, that is, from Romans to Philemon, (although Paul wrote Hebrews) then you are not to do it. A Hyper-Dispensationalist is one that cuts up the Bible into “nice” little slices (like cutting a loaf of bread into slices) without recognizing some very important rules of interpretation where Paul actually used Old Testament doctrine in his epistles. A Biblical dispensationalist will adhere to some very important rules to keep from getting way out of balance. The saying, “If Paul didn’t say it then you shouldn’t do it…” is one of the most irrational, radical, self-willed, illogical, satanic sayings ever spoken from the lips of a human being. And for some illogical reason some of the so-called “Bible believers” have become imbalanced using the very same statement above that the Hyper-dispensationalists (Dry Cleaners) or Campbellites (“water dogs”) have used, “If Paul didn’t say it then you shouldn’t do it or teach it.”

If you are not grounded in the word of God, (Col. 2:7) you are going to be reluctant and naive to believe such a heretical statement. If we were to go along with such a statement made and believed by the “hypers” then the following would be “true,” -

1. YOU CAN NEVER BUILD A CHURCH BUILDING because nowhere in Paul’s epistles does he ever preach or teach or practice building church buildings or HOUSES for that matter.

Are you involved in building your own house or a church building? Then according to our beloved heretical brethren, you shouldn’t be doing such a thing. Do you know any of these heretics that actually are building a house or a church building and have heard themselves say, “Since Paul never mentioned it, you shouldn’t do it.” They are hypocrites! You can catch a hypocrite very easily!!!

2. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE A RADIO, OR TELEPHONE (Conference) OR TELEVISION MINISTRY, because Paul never mentioned these ministries. Some of these “punk” Christians don’t even realize what they are saying when they say, “If Paul didn’t say it, then you shouldn’t do it.” They are caught in hypocrisy and don’t even know it (Rev. 3:17). They may even have a cell phone to use for a “ministry.” But you could be sure of one thing, Paul wouldn’t “leach” off of other members of other churches to build upon another man’s foundation, Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: (Rom. 15:20).

To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's line of things (2 Cor. 10:16).

That is what you call a LEACH!!! “Give, Give…” (Prov.30:15). They can’t do without your ministry. No matter what you do or what you say, whether it be right or wrong, (Matt. 11:18, 19) they have to LEACH off of your ministry to boast of their own ministry.

3. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE A WEDDING FEAST, because “Paul never practiced or taught that you can have one” so they say.

You see, these blind, ignorant, Laodicean Christians can’t see what Paul said in Colossians 2:14-16

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

You see, if you follow these liars’ logic you will find yourself fellowshipping with a den of snakes who want to control you and rob you of true Biblical Christian liberty in Jesus Christ (Gal. 2:4; 5:1, 13) in the power of the Holy Spirit. They may sound like they are spiritual but in actuality their spirit (in this case) is no different than that of Hitler. They are out to CONTROL you.

These self-righteous hypocrites have some kind of “PHOBIA” with the bible word “feast” that could even mean being hospitable to guests (Gen. 19:3) or when a child was weaned (Gen. 21:8), or when an agreement was made (Gen. 26:29, 30) let alone when there was a couple to be married (Gen. 29:22). This was done before ANY LAW was ever made. Paul did not sin when he wanted to go to a “feast” (Acts 18:21). These poor, ignorant fools can’t tell the difference between a feast where there is nothing but drunkenness, smoking, cussing and fighting and a feast when Biblical principles are held by brothers and sisters in Christ and is a time of EDIFICATION.

Let’s continue with their line of “logic.”

4. YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY THINGS ON CREDIT because Paul never mentions “credit.” Now you see they may never say such a thing as this fourth point but in actuality that is what they are really saying IF we adhere to their “logic” of thinking. Again, while they say, “If Paul doesn’t say it, we shouldn’t practice it,” at the same time they probably have bought or are now in debt by CREDIT!!! Hypocrites!!! Have you got a car that you are paying for on credit? What about a house? What about a church building? What about technical equipment? And out of your very same mouth you are talking about “Well, if Paul didn’t say it we shouldn’t do it!” You black hearted hypocrite you. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You ought to have your head examined.

5. DON’T PLAY SPORTS because the word “sports” spelled “s-p-o-r-t-s” is not in the Pauline epistles. You see, that is where the “logic” of these self-righteous “leaders” will lead you. They are trying to be so spiritual that they cease to be spiritual. They make up these little Pharisaical rules that Paul talked about “(Touch not; taste not; handle not…” (Col. 2:21). They are vainly “PUFFED UP” (Col. 2:18).

6. YOU SHOULD NEVER WEAR A TIE, because Paul never taught that you should wear one.

Now do you understand the idea behind this “logic” of thinking? If you were to follow that line of satanic manipulation than you could go so far as to say that women should not wear a dress to church, but pants, because nowhere does Paul in his epistles talk about a woman wearing a dress spelled “d-r-e-s-s” to church. Then let them wear pants. But wait a minute. Where do you find Paul talking about a woman wearing pants to church? He doesn’t. Then what are the women to go to church in, SHORTS? Where is THAT word in the Pauline epistles? Do you see where it all winds up? I’ll tell you where it all ends up, right in the middle of Leviticus 18 and 20. Have you ever done a study on NAKEDNESS??? The word NAKEDNESS is used 25 times in just 2 chapters. On the one hand you’ve got the super liberal crowd of “Christians” that will justify anything “because Paul didn’t say anything about it specifically…” And on the other extreme you’ve got leaders trying to CONTROL you. He is a two-faced, poisonous snake that has had very little honest experience with people concerning matters of “modesty” KJV (1 Tim. 2:9; 1 Pet. 3:1-3). He’ll say that “If Paul didn’t say it then we won’t do it.” And at the same time make up rules that women should always wear a dress, anywhere, anytime, with no exceptions.

By the way, my wife and 3 girls all wear dresses, by personal conviction.

7. YOU SHOULD NEVER CONFESS YOUR SINS AFTER SALVATION, because nowhere in Paul’s epistles (Romans 14:11 has to do with what the Christian will do at the Judgment Seat of Christ) do you ever find the word itself confession, I mean spelled “c-o-n-f-e-s-s-i-o-n” in his epistles where it is dealing with confessing of sin after a person has already trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour (Rom. 10:9, 10).

That is one of the most dangerous teachings by the “hyper”-dispensational “brethren.” They think that since the true believer is judicially “in Christ” and covered by the blood of Christ that there is no more need to confess sins even after the saved sinner has sinned such sins as fornication, drunkenness, lying, stealing, killing, heresies, EMULATIONS etc., or any others works of the flesh of the believer mentioned in Galatians 5:20, 21 because nowhere in Paul’s epistles does he mention anything about confessing sins after salvation.

Now let’s get some things straight buddy. You had better understand that just because Paul didn’t say “thou shalt not smoke cigarettes” that that gives you reason to build your own system of theology and justify your wicked habit. The Roman Catholic Whore of Revelation 17 built its own system of theology and believed that it was to take the place of the nation of Israel since the Jews murdered their Messiah, although Rome was involved in that also. Ecclesiastical Rome has murdered more true believers hundreds of times more that pagan Rome has ever murdered based on their system of theology supposing that God is all through with Israel. The Whore taught Hitler how to “wrongly” divide the word of truth. Hitler, along with Stalin, (both professing Christianity) murdered millions of Jews. That particular line of thought or system of leaven in now in the body of Christ and taught by so-called Bible believers.

8. YOU ARE NOT TO HAVE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS IN THE LOCAL CHURCH, “because Paul never mentions people playing on instruments in a local assembly. Musical instruments are used only in other books of the Bible but not in Paul’s epistles.

9. YOU CAN TATTOO YOUR BODY “because nowhere in the Pauline epistles does he mention anything against them.

You’ve got sport stars, movie stars, all around the world that tattoo their bodies as if they were practicing voodooists that like to puncture their bodies with needles.

The fact of the matter is when a man starts talking like some of our brethren that think that they are “Bible believers” when it comes to so-called Biblical standards, they make up their own cute, nice little sayings, “If Paul didn’t say it, then we are not to do that.” Then that gives them the opportunity to create their OWN standards of living. Nothing could be more pious, hypocritical and subtle than that. It is called a DOUBLE-STANDARD! The man has a DOUBLE-TONGUE, (1 Tim. 3:8) and a DOUBLE-MIND (Jam. 1:8). He is a DOUBLE-AGENT! He is trying to become popular from other people’s ministries. He is building on another man’s foundation. Большетого, ятакстремилсяпроповедоватьевангелие, нетам, гдеХристосупоминался, чтобы не строить на основании другого: (Rom. 15:20).

He is sloppy in practice and in doctrine. As sloppy as punk rockers dress - SLOPPY. It’s called “punk” Christianity. It’s kind of like those from the Alexandrian cult that talk about the “infallible” word of God and what they really mean is the “originals” and not a book that you can hold in your hand today called “The Holy Bible.” They make up their own standards; “the originals,” “in the original test,” “in the Apocrypha…” “The traditions and the Bible are equal…” “I use a Syrian text…” “The oldest and best manuscripts…” etc. They use one “authority” at a certain time, and then at another time they use another “authority, when the first one doesn’t work – DUAL STANDARD! There is no difference between that and the methods and spirit of a fascist, church state WHORE (Rev. 17) that professes to be “Christian.” In spirit they are both DOUBLE AGENTS.

PAUL WAS NOT A HYPER-DISPENSATIONALIST

Paul quoted many times the Old Testament to make a DOCTRINAL statement that would apply DOCTRINALLY to the body of Christ. That is what no Hyper-Dispensationalist will recognize.

For instance no Hyper-Dispensationalists would even think about quoting 2 Corinthians 9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. It is a quote from Psalm 112:9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

This Old Testament verse has to do with works and righteousness enduring based upon giving to others in need. This verse could not possibly be something of the past only as many Bible expositors try to do. They think that Books of the Old Testament are simply past and therefore there can be no content in them for us today or the future DOCTRINALLY. Paul took that very same verse and applied to the Christian in the church age DOCTRINALLY.

There are a great many Hyper-Dispensationalists (that profess to be Bible believers) that don’t care too much for this kind of thing, but since “all” scripture is profitable not only for “doctrine” (2 Tim. 3:16) but for “reproof…correction…instruction,” we always need to look a little deeper into the scriptures than the Hyper-Dispensationalists.

Concerning salvation in the Pauline epistles, Christ Himself is our righteousness (Rom. 10:1-4). But to the dismay of the Bereans (a group of Hyper-Dispensationalists in America) and to other “Hypers” in Ukraine, the Christian has a body of righteousness separate from Christ’s righteousness. It is righteousness based upon his works. Look at the verse stupid. I know somebody will start spreading some crap around about Bro. Demopoulos spreading some “heresy” about losing salvation when you haven’t even taken time to look at the CONTEXT. LOOK at the context. Paul is not even talking about salvation in the context.

Now the rule of Biblical interpretation along these matters is this;

  1. If Paul’s theology for the “church” (1 Cor.10:32), which is from Romans to Philemon, does not contradict any other scriptures from Genesis to Revelation then that part of scripture (outside of Paul’s books) can be applied for the Church, the body of Christ. (1 Tim. 2:9; Duet. 22:5).
  2. If Paul’s theology for the church age DOES contradict any and all other authors of the Bible; Moses (Pentateuch) the Prophets, David (Psalms), Peter, James, John, etc., then you are to receive Paul’s revelation for the New Testament, church age, body of Christ. A proper division must be made (1 Tim. 4:1-4; Rom. 4:4, 5; Eph. 2:8, 9; Gal. 2:16; Tit. 3:5.
  3. Where Paul is silent on certain issues; wedding feast, ties, sun glasses, credit, church buildings, “electronic” ministries, licenses, Television, etc., these are to be done in subjection to basic Biblical principles of righteousness and truth throughout Paul’s epistles for the edification of the saints and for the glory of God.
  4. One of the “key(s)” of proper interpretation of the Bible is understanding which verses of the Old Testament apply doctrinally to the church age believer and which ones don’t.

Here are some of the many verses throughout Paul’s epistles that would “outline” the proper guidelines in matters that are not specifically mentioned in his epistles-

Galatians 5:22, 23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Philippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from ALL APPEARANCE of evil.

There is structure in the liberty that is in Christ Jesus which is far better, than a bunch of Pharisaical rules made up by there leaders.

There are many verses that can be used to prove that the “logic” of these modern day Laodicean so-called Bible believers is not Biblical logic but the symptoms of a satanic spirit that produces of bunch of controlled robots that know nothing about the grace of God and the power and teaching ability of God’s grace (2 Tim. 2:1, 2; Tit. 2:11-13; etc.). Christians are called to live a life of humility, modesty, and of righteousness and truth.

Colossians 2:18-23

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

(Touch not; taste not; handle not;

Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
