OBITUARY/EULOGY
Many people find the thought of their own death very frightening. As a result, the majority of people try
to avoid thinking about the possibility of their death. Every person must eventually die. To avoid ever thinking about your own death is to avoid facing an event that ultimately must happen.
Imagine you are a member of a newspaper staff. One day you are called upon to write your own
obituary notice. Use the following format or be creative in your approach and write something by
which you will truly be remembered.
(Your name) , age ______, died yesterday from ______
He/she is survived by ______
At the time of death, he/she was working on becoming ______
He/she made contributions in the area of ______
He/she will be honored for ______
He/she always hoped to ______
The body will be ______
Answer the following questions:
1.Was this an easy assignment? Why or why not?
2.Does this obituary/eulogy give a good reflection of your life?
3.What did you learn from this experience?

Design your headstone or resting place marker
What will it look like?
What will it say?
What special touch will you add so that all who visit will forever remember you?

What would it be like to fill out your Death Certificate?
Go ahead and try it – I doubt you will ever be able to do this again.

My daughter is rebelling now that my husband and I are separating.
I’ve tried counseling, incentive charts and letting her spend time apart visiting with relatives. I wonder if she and I will ever have the great mother/daughter relationship I envisioned. It seems like I’m always screaming or yelling at her. She seems sad all the time too. What should I do?–Mother of all Problems
