IEP Critique Assignment: 10%

a. Students will be provided with sample IEP’s and the Standards for Development, Program Planning and Implementation. In groups, you will critique the sample IEP provided. As a GROUP, go through each of the standards and answer the question, does this IEP meet the standard? If yes, state yes. If no, state no and list the reason(s). This should be about 1-2 pages long. Each GROUP will submit 1 paper copy of the group’s critique (next class) of the IEP stating whether the IEP met the Standards for Development. Please attach the group response to a copy of the sample IEP. For information on grading please read the IEP Group Mark rubric. (Available on my website).

b. Each INDIVIDUAL member of the group will attach their individual written response to the group response and sample IEP. The individual response will consist of a score from 1 (low) to 5 (high) indicating the overall assessment of the IEP and an explanation of the rationale for the score. The score and the rationale should be based on the Ministry guidelines for IEPs. This should be about 1page in length. Please refer to the scoring rubric for the IEP Individual Work rubric for information on grading.
