  • people sharing your workplace
  • inexperienced staff
  • lone workers
  • shift workers
  • staff with disabilities
  • visitors
  • members of the public
1.7Demonstrate that all information related to hazard identification and risk assessment is up to date and from recognised and reliable sources
1.8Explain how to obtain information and/or advice from hazard and risk specialists.
1.9Recognise when and how others should be involved in the process of hazard identification and risk assessment.
1.10Complete and keep clear records which conform the relevant statutory and company requirements
1.11Report the results of the process to relevant people.

2.2Classify hazards identified as;
  • Being able to be eliminated
  • Cannot be eliminated so must be assessed and controlled.
2.3Assess risks arising from;

  • Workplace layout
  • Ground Conditions
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Height

2.4Present recommendations based on assessments in 2.3 that;
  • Propose actions to reduce and/or control the risk/s
  • Propose frequency of monitoring of control measures
  • Meet standards set by legal requirements
  • Comply with recognised industry standards
  • Represent good practice
  • Consider the need for training
2.5Report the results of the hazard identification and risk assessment to relevant people.
2.6Complete and maintain records of assessments and recommendations that conform to regulatory requirements and company requirements.
2.7Explain the possible consequences of failing to adequately identify hazards, assess and reduce risks.
  1. Review and evaluate risk assessments.

3.2Demonstrate the review and evaluation of risk assessments in relation to;

  • Industry practice
  • Company and/or industry patterns and trends
  • Legal requirements for the workplace
3.4Identify new or increased hazards arising from changes in working practices
3.5Identify accurately any changes in risk.
3.6Initiate action/s to ensure;
  • implementation of recommendations specified in latest risk assessment to reduce or control risks
  • risk assessments are updated
  • those affected are promptly informed
  • training is carried out where required
  • clear records are kept which conform to relevant statutory and company requirements
