Ø Treasurers Report
v Jim reviewed $50,000 in the bank..
v Everything caught up.
Ø Coaching Report
v Level 4 will be in Phoenix no date yet…phone conference coming up to get that set up.
v District function but want us to have a strong presence
v National meetings great, morning town council meetings to the youth meeting, coaching program meetings. Talking about youth including 20 for recreation for kids who do not want to play adult yet.
v Larry will talk to Rae tomorrow to make sure Email blast is sent out for Level 4 course
Ø Officiating Report
v Next AHOA meeting is February 10th 6:30
v New President - Chris Zorza
v Vice President of Administration - Eric Thiem
§ Bryan submitted report through email
§ Chris is new president with Herb’s resignation
§ VP admin vacated because that was Chris so Eric Thiem is new one…new board member needed to replace him.
§ President’s Day tournament is biggest thing going on..the biggest challenge right now is Friday.
§ A list of officials will be provided to Stacey.
§ Not sure what the term is for President, could be 2 years…Tony said if position is vacated there will be an election next annual board meeting.

v 8944 registered, includes juniors, unclaimed.
v 10 year review Tammy will send out huge increase…Donnalee includes coaches, players etc..not pure players , players approx 7800 includes people who are registered for multiple rinks

Ø Disciplinary Report
v 2 meetings since last board meeting
v Hearings on total of 7 match penalties, 5 adult, 1 coach, 1 youth
v Adult was giving a Match deliberately firing a puck at an official when the official had their back turned , information given to each rink so he can’t play for a year and a game
v Attendance for members who haven’t been attending if you aren’t going to attend need to appoint someone else from your association so someone can be there.
Ø Background Screening / Safe Sport Report
v Everyone is up to date one person submitted yesterday and today only ones outstanding
v New Safesport training video powerpoint for USAH…refresher training. If you certificate is expiring this year then do this one and you will be completed until 2017. Also one for parents but saying not ready yet so hold off on telling parents that.
v Donnalee remind all associations that still need to get those Coaches screened and Safesport. If they are in the locker rooms, on the ice, on the bench they need the Safesport certification.

v During the High school meeting talked about having a middle school league changing it from high school to scholastic
v Make sure we pass on information from this meeting to your members /associations.
Ø AZYHL Report
· Update on what’s been happening
o Thanks Jim, Jennifer, Adam taking on the last few divisions that were homeless
o Everyone has a schedule, no one but high school will be playing out of their home rink
o 16A and 18A will be playing 5 days later than the other divisions
o Rate $325/hr
o Officials gave rates
o Put in budget for printing
o Actual cost for team is paid to the state and the state will pay the rinks, pay at registration
o Score sheets not turned in so for those divisions can’t get the times until these are turned in
o 1st and 2nd place teams medals from Crown Rewards
o Total cost for 440 of them $1095
o Medals will say AAHA State Championships
o AZYHL championships will get a banner
o Awards paid for by AAHA
o Coyotes are willing to pay for awards (lanyard Arizona Coyotes)

Ø AHOA Proposed Rates discussion
· Break down of research for getting the rates
· Becky contacted a number of states and we are within guidelines
· Some rinks will take a bigger bite than others but Refs will choose the rinks paying more
· Dave suggested quantifying expectations that were set when it was agreed to bring AHOA on board
· Sean would like to see some sort of report card for Coaches to fill out on the ref doing their game

Ø Confirm Tier 1 Policies for 2015-2016 season
o Brendan reviewed points from Geoff (Bruce stated check with USAH that you can limit Tier 1 so with USAH states anyone who wants to be can be Tier 1)
o 2 spots for Tier 1 association
o The board voted last year to have 2 associations do we stay that way or not
o The Tier 1 committee felt its bigger than Tier 1 committee because affects AA etc so more for the state
o Out of State rule come down to 40% instead of 50%
o Formalizing the proposal for 2 year period

o Tryouts to be fair allows player to play Tier 1 to try out for more than 1 team
Ø AZ Ice NO PLAYING UP rule(Jim C)
o Board voted in a No Playing Up rule but board said it is only at the Mite division. Mites have to get approval if called up to Squirts
Ø Social media bullying policy (Matt)
o State see if we can have the players sign off on a policy, parents sign it and players
Ø Arizona Coyotes Items (Matt)
o Flexxcoach partnership (give all house league coaches 6 months membership free , remind youth hockey directors and high school coaches for numbers) approve coaching skills for drills etc
o Player of the Month Issues – struggle to get this from some association. If not interested than let him know, parents don’t respond until 2 days prior.
o Adult Hockey Equipment Update – Justin Rogers spoke to Katie, how to register to get the free gear. Matt sent the email out to the Directors.
o Adult Hockey State Tournament – USAH hockey reach out to Chelsea to see if she needs anything
o Website Changes – doing what Rubber does but more frequently on the website, stories about players around the valley.
o Point streak/Time to Score- looking into time to score, done San Jose rinks, Matt said it is excellent, touch screen computers, goes directly to terminals and right to webpage, controls actual scoreboard. Probably not doing point streak after this year
Ø USA Hockey will have a National High School Tournament (Tim R)
o 2 divisions (Pure and Combined)
o AHSHA would like to add to AAHA Policy and Procedure Manual to define who is able to play in the Nationals
