40th Annual General Meeting held on Friday, 18th November 2011

at YMCA, Colaba, Mumbai

Time flies and two yearshave passed so fast that the Mumbai Chapter held its 40thAnnual General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (IASAP) on Friday, 18th November 2011 at 1830 hrs.at the Seminar Room, YMCA, Colaba, Mumbai. It was an eventful evening where about 93 members were present on the occasion.

President, Jeroo Irani thanked all the members for attending the meeting.Gracy Lee, Hon. Secretary of IASAP read out theMinutes of the 39th AGM of the IASAP which were approved. Queries raised at the AGM were answered to the satisfaction of the members. Mrs.Homai Mehta, President Emeritus suggested having an EGM, once the accounts of Tamil Nadu Chapter were passed at their EGM on 19th November, 2011. She thanked Jeroo Irani and PansyReilly who helpedin some way in trying to settle the issues pertaining to the Tamil Nadu Chapter.

Jeroo was presented with a Rotating Trophy and given a standing ovation for her hard workin and dedication in keeping the IASAP banner flying high. Jeroo thanked everyone including all the past Presidents andmembers of the Governing Council for supporting her during the two-year tenure

Jeroopresented a bouquet of flowers to three outgoing Governing Council members : Pansy Reilly and Katy Dhondy after completing their tenure and Janice Braganza who stepped down for personal reasons. A new member, viz. Sharon Pires of Bharat Petroleum joined the Committee.

The solemn swearing in ceremony took place whereby all Governing Council members took an Oath of Office to work loyally and to the best of their abilities. Members who had completed 15 and 25 years of membership with IASAP were felicitated.

Wilma D’Costa of Tata Sonsworking as Executive Secretary to Mr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Director, Tata Sons Limited was then called upon to deliver her maiden speech as the incoming All India President. She promised to do her best as All India President with the support from the Governing Council and members. Co-incidentally, Wilma is the 18th All-India President of IASAP being selected on the 18th day of the month i.e. the day the IASAP AGM was held!

Wilma also heralded the good news that through her good offices she arranged to host a Christmas High Tea party on 11th December 2011 at Taj Lands End. She requested members to block their diaries and informed them that the circular giving details would follow in due course. Kudos to you Wilma, you have started on the right note!

I am confident that Wilma with a number of years of experience will lead IASAP to greater heights. We wish Wilma and her team “All Success”.
