  1. Unified Content Management System Solution Offers

Telecom Operators are facing challenges in managing variety of contents from multiple content providers and then organizing them for multiple presentation layers (multiple formats). They need to roll out new content services and simultaneously manage marketing messages very quickly to consistently stay ahead of the market. i2i understands the real pain points of operators and hence it has been amongst the leaders in bringing a completely integrated content management system designed specifically for the business needs of Telecom Operators. The i2i Unified Content Management System (uCMS) allows Administrator, Marketing and Content professionals to add, manage, and publish digital assets to the store front experience in an easy, relevant and engaging way through a single user interface. The i2i unified content management system (uCMS) framework has been designed to manage content, source and device through a single platform which allows operators to manage services irrespective of content formats, delivery channels or devices. As a result, the deployment and operational cost reduces significantly and at the same time increases the time to market new services. The below diagram depicts the overview of i2i uCMS.

1.1UCMS Architecture and Integration

The system provides a centralized hosting environment for all the digital contents and offers a unified platform to the service provider for target subscribers through following store fronts:

  • WEB
  • WAP
  • IVR
  • CRBT
  • USSD
  • SMS
  • ODP
  • STK/UTK

This platform is highly scalable with Enterprise-class server software that will enable the service provider to drive revenue through managed WAP and web portal for content download and streaming. The offered system is based on 3-tier architecture that separates the application layer from DB and presentation, and eventually provides high performance and throughput. As shown in the diagram, i2i platform supports all standard protocols to interact with network elements and legacy system.

  1. Product Features
  • Content agnostic: Supports all content type
  • Automatic Device Detection: The platform has automatic device detection capability. The platform will show only those contents which are supported by the subscribers device
  • Time to Market: CMS has a feature to display the time gap if change reflection is very less or minimal
  • Technology and Reporting: Platform has the ability to generate reports on the basis of different parameters defined by the administrator
  • Device library and device profiling capability
  • Multi-content downloading
  • DRM Management (Forward Lock, Combined Delivery and Separate Delivery)
  • Content Provider management
  • Web portal for subscriber to discover contents
  • Complete content management
  • Promote price and protect content
  • Carrier-Grade performance and scalability
  • Open and configurable Interfaces
  • Subscriber & Device Management

3.3Deployment

i2i Telesource uCMS has a robust architecture based on a path breaking twin-domain concept. The architecture entails the use of two independently networked instances, mutually imbibed with a common database which also has a fail-over mechanism and is all tied down to a single IP address. This architecture thus provides stability, reliability and complete redundancy, should one server fail to perform for any reason. The time-to-repair is never a reason for services outage, as the other servers are continuously synchronized and always on. Immediate switch-over to the other servers and isolation of the failed server is in real time with no human intervention whatsoever.

3.4Performance

uCMS platform is capable of serving an n number of users with an unlimited number of download with required hardware and software. The service response time should be within MSISDN 10 sec to Max 30 sec on the handset (end user experience). The service response on the handset is dependent on the network and is not the only function of uCMS. Any performance limitations will be enforced by the available system resources such as CPUs and storage and by the throughput capacity of the network. The architecture makes intelligent use of the resources at its disposal to provide a system capable of very high throughputs, meeting the requirements of the most demanding situations. The application response should be within 2 seconds on the uCMS Platform. uCMS Advanced design supports more concurrent sessions and better quality with relatively lesser hardware. Can be scaled up to the required users and TPS with supportive hardware and software, along with 100% service uptime performance and twin domain architecture.

3.5Scalability

i2i uCMS provides powerful scalability options that meet a customer's current and future performance requirements. Its’ architecture can be scaled across several nodes, with the addition of new nodes providing for an almost linear increase of system performance. Carrier-Grade reliability and availability through the best use of load balancers at all levels. Self-configured & developed software tools to provide High Availability (HA) to all uCMS modules including multiple content storage locations and HA databases.

3.6Customization

The uCMS platform is based on an open architecture that allows the platform to be customized. Many of the values are parameterized and are accessible to the platform administrator. This allows the administrator to implement routine changes without having to contact the support team. In addition, the platform customization could include a number of options based on requirements from the customer. Some of these include:

  • Templates
  • Look and feel – color, font, layout, graphics
  • Localization
  • Navigation
  • Customized pages / links
  • Report & MIS formats

3.7Roadmap

uCMS is a continuously evolving platform and has been primarily based on the requirements of Mobile Operators, Content aggregators and large media houses across the globe. The system is being used for a number of live VAS services and has numerous on-going live commercial deployments.

The architecture enables an extensible system that can support:

  • Feature Enhancement
  • Quick to market
  • Customization of look and feel
  • Modular design with add-ons
  • Adapters & API’s to provide seamless integration with Operator OSS and BSS
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Web, WAP and SMS portal enhancements
  • Open API that allows new services to be integrated
  • Integration capability with SIP Application servers for use in IMS networks

3.8Immediate ROI
