Achievements

We do like to share children’s achievements outside of school through the newsletter. If your child has something they wish to share, please let Mrs Olds know and she will include it in the newsletter. During the summer holidays, Isla Rouen was awarded a Merit in her Primary Tap Dancing exam. Inspired by their participation in the Camborne Show, the Rouen children entered some craft and cookery at the Launceston Show. Gabriel entered 3 items and won a 1st and a 4th, Isla entered 5 items and won a 3rd, a 4th and two 5th’s, Noah entered 6 items and won a 1st two 2nd’s, a 3rd and a 4th. Noah was also awarded the cup for winning the most points in the 9-11 year old category.

Well done Noah, Isla & Gabriel!

School Diaries

Your child will have received their new diary for this academic year. These have proved very useful in communication between school and home. Please continue to use this method to pass on messages etc. As well as using the diaries, you are also welcome to speak with any of the teachers if you have any concerns. Please take time to read through the diaries and sign and complete the sections on pages 5, 6 and 7, thank you. / Tuck Rota

Attached to this newsletter is the new rota for the Autumn Term. Thank you to everyone who brings in donations each Friday. The money raised from the Tuck Shop is divided equally between training a Guide Dog for the Blind and supporting Dinora, a child in Latin America through the charity Toybox.

Second Hand Uniform

Mrs Florence, Lilian’s Mum (Y1) is very kindly running the second hand uniform ‘shop’. Attached to this newsletter is an up to date list of items available. Any donations of good quality second hand uniform may be brought into school and given to Mrs Olds who will liaise with Mrs Florence re collection. Thank you.

Giant Vegetable Competition

We have been asked to remind everyone of the Giant Vegetable Competition which will take place at the Horticultural Centre in Kehelland on Saturday, 17th September, 2016, from 11.00am to 4.00pm. Children will be making animals from vegetables which will be on display and also judged in a competition. / Kehelland Chapel Harvest Festival
Sunday 18th September – 6.00pm

Everyone is welcome to attend the annual Harvest Festival which takes place at Kehelland Chapel on Sunday, 18th September, at 6.00pm.

Roald Dahl inspired competition

We know that James had a marvellous adventure in a giant peach. Can you imagine a short story, poem or picture describing your adventure with a giant fruit or vegetable of your choice? At Kehelland Trust’s Giant Vegetable Competition & Show, they display all sorts of giants – onions, marrows, pumpkins, very long leaks, carrots and parsnips, turnips, tomatoes & more! The Trust would like to run a little in-school competition for the show entitled “______(child’s name) and the giant ______(vegetable or fruit of your choice)” rather than James and the Giant Peach. Please have your work ready for collection by Friday 16th September. You will need to mark the reverse of your work with your name and whether you are in Class1, 2 or 3. The Trust will display the work on the day and award certificates.
