CAST BIOGRAPHIES

SARAH SILVERMAN (Beth)

There is no doubt that Sarah Silverman’s star is on the rise. From stand-up comedy to film and television, Sarah has seen her share of success. But 2005 marked a huge year for the talented actress who is poised to make an equally impressive splash in 2006. The feature length film version of her one-woman show opened in theaters November 11th to rave reviews. The film, “Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic,” directed by Liam Lynch and filmed before a live crowd in Los Angeles in 2004 garnered major attention at the Toronto Film Festival and created huge national buzz. Silverman was in turn named one of the Entertainers of 2005 by Entertainment Weekly and landed herself a spot as the Breakthrough Comedian of the Year in People. On the heels of the success of Jesus is Magic, Comedy Central recently ordered 6 episodes of Silverman’s television show, The Sarah Silverman Program. The show, about a detached and eccentric woman with no discernible goals whose tale will be told through an array of comedic scenes and songs that, taken as a whole, compose a single day of her life, is (loosely) based on her life and is slated to premiere this summer.

Silverman recently wrapped filming the feature “School for Scoundrels” opposite Billy Bob Thornton and John Heder. Most recently, Sarah blew audiences away in the documentary feature, “The Aristocrats” in which 100 of the industry’s most prominent comedians tell a version of the same joke. Before that she co-starred opposite Jack Black, Mike White, and Joan Cusack in “The School of Rock” for Paramount. She has also co-starred in a number of films, including the blockbuster “There’s Something About Mary,” “The Way of The Gun,” Ivan Reitman’s “Evolution,” “The Bachelor,” and “Say It Isn’t So.”

Sarah co-starred on the FOX comedy “Greg The Bunny” opposite Eugene Levy. She has also guest starred in a slew of acclaimed and notable television shows, such as “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Seinfeld,” and “Mr. Show with Bob and David.” Silverman also lends her voice to the hugely successful Comedy Central show, “Crank Yankers.”

Sarah grew up in New Hampshire and attended New YorkUniversity. It was around this time that she began to pursue the Manhattan comedy scene and logged as much time in the comedy clubs as she did in the classroom. In 1993 she joined “Saturday Night Live” and has not stopped working ever since.

Sarah currently resides in Los Angeles with her dog Duck.

BONNIE HUNT (Stella Lewis)

The multi-talented Bonnie Hunt has conquered the worlds of film, television and theatre as a performer, writer and director, always giving the audience something to think about in every performance.

Simultaneously, she pursued her acting career, performing at the renowned SecondCity. After making the move to feature films, Hunt became familiar to audiences for her hilarious and unforgettable cameos. She made her feature film debut in Barry Levinson’s Rain Man as the toothpick-dropping waitress and was the comically dedicated White House tour guide in Dave (“We’re walking, we’re walking…”).

Bonnie will next be “heard” as the voice of Sally Carrera, the reformed-workaholic in Pixar’s new animated feature, CARS out June 9.

In 1996, Hunt portrayed Renee Zellweger’s quick-witted sister in Cameron Crowe’s smash Jerry Maguire. Other film credits include: Jumanji with Robin Williams, Norman Jewison’s Only You as Marisa Tomei’s best friend, and Charles Grodin’s beleaguered wife in Universal’s family hits Beethoven and Beethoven’s 2nd.

Starring David Duchovny, Minnie Driver, Carroll O’Connor, Robert Loggia, David Alan Grier, Joely Richardson, Jim Belushi and Hunt, Return To Me is a sweet romantic comedy that shows us that in love our hearts lead the way. Return To Me was shot almost entirely in the filmmaker’s hometown of Chicago.

Hunt has since lent her voice to Rosie, one of the delightful insects, in Disney’s animated hit A Bug’s Life, and co-starred in two major features: in The Green Mile with Tom Hanks, and alongside Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas in Random Hearts. Megan Murphy

Associate Producer

For over twelve years, Megan Murphy has worked in various capacities of the film and television business, from writing and directing to editing and producing.

Recently served as an co-producer on the Golden Globe®-winning, Emmy®-nominated hit HBO comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” she is responsible for overseeing the entire post production schedule for this uniquely innovative show. She initially joined the crew as a post production supervisor on the first two seasons of the show before moving on to become associate producer. Currently she holds a position as associate producer on a new improv series for Lionsgate.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Murphy graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, TV and Film. That same year, she was elected publicity chairman of the Women in FilmVideo, Maryland chapter. As the youngest board member ever admitted, this proved to be a defining moment for her and a great foray into the world of entertainment.

In the Fall of 1993, Murphy found herself working as an assistant accountant on the hit feature film, “True Lies,” which was filming locally in WashingtonD.C. What was initially a two-week stint led to a full time position on the crew, following the production to several other locations before ending up in Los Angeles. During the hiatus period, Murphy moved into a position with 20th Century Fox’s post production accounting department, where she perfected the art of budget template comparisons, evaluating cost reports, organizing accounts payable and researching mismatched invoices and purchase orders.

As soon as production wrapped on “True Lies,” Murphy went on to work as an assistant production coordinator on Tom Clancy’s mini-series “Op Center” and subsequently worked on such projects as ABC’s “Babylon 5,” Trimark Entertainment’s feature film “Crossworlds” and New World Entertainment’s pilot “The Book.” She was eventually promoted to the position of 2nd 2nd assistant director, working on a mixture of television formats and feature film projects, such as Miramax/Shadowdancer’s “Smoke Signals,” Showtime’s “Menno’s Mind,” ABC’s “Hypernauts” and the NBC sitcom “Fired Up.”

These positions eventually led to her work in post production as an assistant on the 1998 feature film “Hope Floats.” At this time Murphy enrolled herself in an assistant editor’s course to learn the skills of maintaining and organizing a project on the Avid. Shortly after finishing the course, she earned her first position as an assistant editor on Robert Guenette’s documentary series, “Greatest People and Events of the 20th Century.” Delivering 10 hours of programming and specializing as the onlining assistant, she gained a deep understanding of the post production process on a television series.

In 1999, Murphy became an associate producer on a one-hour special for LucasFilms, titled “From Star Wars to Star Wars: The Story of ILM,” which aired on the Fox Network. From this point on she continued to work in post production on such projects as Triage Entertainment’s “Exploring the Unknown” and “Skeptic’s.” The vast experience she earned on these and all her other past projects ultimately led to her recent position on the feature “I want someone to eat cheese with.”

During hiatus periods, Murphy writes, directs and produces projects for her own production company, “hey, hon!productions, Inc.,” which she incorporated in 2002. “hey, hon!” has produced three short films and is currently in development on four original feature film projects. Murphy thrives on further understanding the art of storytelling with each project and continues to expand her knowledge of the filmmaking process.
