The culture of the ungodly line of Cain had prevailed in the world and made it rotten. Here we learn about that evil culture.

A)Evil marriages

Genesis 6:2 (KJV)
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

1)marriages were corrupted.

(1st)Unsanctified unions were common just as today.

(2nd)When marriages are unholy, society is on the road to degradation and destruction.

B)Evil might

Genesis 6:4 (KJV)
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

1)The word "giants" is translated from a Hebrew word meaning "bully, a tyrant"

2)When sin abounds power will be corrupted and used for cruelty not for justice.

C)Evil mind

1)People have a tendency to de-emphasize the importance of one's thoughts.

2)we are what we think. Our thought life is the foundation of our conduct.

3)So much in our society is aimed at corrupting the thoughts of man— MEDIA

II)The Patience in the Corruption

Genesis 6:3 (KJV)
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

The patience of God is always present in Divine judgment.

A)The warning in the patience."My spirit shall not always strive with man."

1)God is patient with sinners, but when the sinner refuses to repent, God's patience runs out.

III)The Pain About the Corruption

Genesis 6:6 (KJV)
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

A)"It grieved him [God] at his heart." "Grieved" involves sorrow and pain. Sin causes pain and sorrow.

IV)The public statement of the Condemnation

Genesis 6:7 (KJV)
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Genesis 6:13 (KJV)
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

A)God did not hesitate to let His attitude be known about the evil.

1)Men have no excuse for not knowing that their sinful conduct is evil, for God has duly informed them.

B)If we are going to fight sin, we will have to go public with our attitude about sin.

1)Secret discipleship and secret damnation of evil are not acceptable to God.

2)We need to stand up and be counted in the fight against evil.

C)God is holy and WILL punish sin.

1)Grace does not eliminate punishment.

2)Grace only gives time for the sinner to repent.

V)The compliance in the performing.

22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

A)Noah obeyed completely.

B)He did everything God told him to do.

C)He did not cut corners or change anything to make it easier for himself.

D)He did all that was given him to do.
