Hi, my name is Vanessa Lopez and I am currently a senior ready to graduate in May. I am currently working towards a double degree in Business management and Ethnic studies. I’m a Boulder native and I’m ready to see what the rest of the world has to offer me. As most of you, I have done many group projects over the years, and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. With the countless experiences with less than helpful team members, you can count on me to complete my fair share, and more if necessary. I may be quite and reserved, but this just means I’m great at listening and paying attention to detail. I work well with others, ask questions when necessary, and am great at keeping things organized. I will always be on time to meetings and will always show up prepared…making sure that I have put my best effort in completing my work that meets all necessary standards.

I spent six months traveling the world with 90 people from 15 different countries. We completed community impact projects, lived with 22 different host families and were immersed in the cultures of the places we visited. This was the most amazing experience of my life, and it has opened my eyes to see in different perspectives. I feel through this experience, I have gained many skills that can positively contribute to a team; being exposed to several different cultures helps one to problem solve in different ways, and also helps with communication in different settings. I am also an Ethnic Studies major, so I usually have a different opinion or perspective on things compared to the average business student.

I have a great work ethic because I have worked since I was sixteen, and have always been a dependable and reliable employee. I’m great with time management, I have been taking at least a 15 hour course load each semester since freshman year while working at least 30 hours a week and still finding time to have fun. I always turn all my homework in on time, and I am the type of person to read every chapter, article and book that is assigned (I don’t like getting bad grades).

My schedule varies since I work in a restaurant, but for right now am available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, and until 6pm on Wednesdays and Sundays. I only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I can rearrange to rest of my schedule for group meetings with enough notice.
