August 2nd 2011

Dear Dancers,

I hope you are all well and are enjoying a relaxing summer break. As we are quickly approaching the start of the new term here at Central I wanted to write to you with some important information relating to the months ahead. This will be especially important for the new students starting in September.

TERM DATES

Autumn Term 2011

Half Term: 29 October

Spring Term 2012

Saturday 7 January – Saturday 24 March

Half Term: 18 February

Summer Term 2012:

Half Term: 2 June

FEES

I need to advise you all on some important information regarding payment of fees. We will no longer send out individual invoices for payment. Rather, we will request payment of all fees in advance based on the level of class your child attends. I have included a ‘guide to fees’ document with this letter that you should keep for reference. Please put in a safe place!

NON-PAYMENT OF FEES

Unfortunately, the non-payment of Associate School fees still occurs very frequently. This compromises our income and seriously jeopardises the future of the classes. Previously, our policy has been that fees must be paid by half term. However, due to ongoing problems with the recovery of fees – currently up to 30% of fees from previous terms still remain unpaid – we are forced to insist that all fees must from this point be paid up-front, and in advance of the start of the new term. Students will no longer be permitted to attend classes unless their ballet fees are up to date. Of course, we understand that times are tough, but if you are unable to make payment of fees on time please do get in touch and let us know so that we can come to an arrangement for payment.

I have also enclosed a schedule of term dates and payment deadlines for the coming year. Please retain this for your information.

UNIFORM

We will be changing the Prep Girls and Pre-Senior Ladies uniforms for the forthcoming term. The new leotards will be made in shades of purple, starting in lilac for Prep 1 and progressing to dark purple for Pre-Senior. These leotards are currently being made for us by a production company, but they will NOT be ready for the start of the new term unfortunately. For this reason, it will be fine to wear any colour leotard to class for the new term, if you do not have one of the old blue leotards. Alternatively, I do have some old leotard stock left over which can be purchased at a reduced price.

The white vests / leotards and navy tights for the Prep Boys and Pre-Senior Men will be in stock and available to purchase from the start of the new term.

TEACHERS

Katie Lusby will be continuing as Prep 2/3 and Pre-Senior Contemporary teacher for the new term.

CLASSES

I have enclosed an up to date timetable with this letter. Please note that Pre-Senior Ladies Ballet will be converting back to the regular time of 10:30-12:00 from the start of the new term in September.

Also, there have been some changes to the timetable for the new term, including some studio swaps. Prep Creative class with Kahli Hayes will also now be divided into two separate classes – Prep Boys Creative and Prep 1 Girls Creative. The attached timetable will provide all information necessary.

RAD CLASSES
There are currently spaces for Girls RAD Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 Coaching Classes. Classes cost £12.50 drop-in or £120 per term. Further information, including class times and application forms, are available on our website.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to restart Men’s RAD Coaching Classes yet due to lack of teacher availability. We will keep you up to date on any new developments with this as they arise.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or require any further information. You can contact me via e-mail or by telephone on the usual number.

We look forward to seeing you all here for the first class on September 17th!

Best wishes,

Jess Mahoney
