Introduction: Let us discuss a woman who was married to a good and godly man like Job. She was a mother of 10 children. She and Job had reared their family for the Lord. She is

known for telling Job to "Curse God and die". What she said was not good, but we need to consider her suffering along with her husband. This is the reaction of a distraught woman, what she said was not like her.

Job understanding answer: "As one of the Foolish Women"—v.10. We are all guilty of talking foolishly at times aren't we?

I- HAVING EXCUSES FOR NOT BEING FAITHFUL

• In verse 9 She said to Job "Dost thou still retain thine integrity?' She thought Job had good reason to rebel. The property, children, wealth and health were gone.

• What excuses have we given for why we do not serve the Lord?

• Our responsibility and our suffering should be viewed in light of Christ's suffering: Can our sacrifice and persecution compare to that of Christ?

• Job proved he did not serve God for gain, what about us?

II- THINKING GOD DOES NOT NEED AND WILL NO LONGER USE US

• The call to end it all does not come from God! Suicide breaks God's commandment! "Thou shalt not kill."—Exodus 20:13. Suicide doesn't end it all! "It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment."—Hebrews 9:27

• Some people have foolishly said “What's the use of this life? It’s better to just give up! Despair and depression are Satan's tools!

• God wants to use you for His glory—I Corinthians 6:19-20. Do you think that you're too old? Do you think that you're too shy? What is it that is causing you to think foolishly about your service to God?

• God used suffering Job as an example of patience. Job’s faith still challenges suffering people.

III- FORGETTING THE GOODNESS OF GOD IN TIMES OF TROUBLES

• In verse 10 we can see the Job's wise reply “Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?”

• No passing pain can compare to God’s goodness. Consider how good He has been to us. Take a look on His love, providing salvation, His daily provision, His protection, and His promises for the future.

• Never question in the dark what God gave you in the light! Satan will try to get us to forget that God cares for us and loves us. Satan will cause us to even question our faith if we allow him to. The Devil Will Tempt with Foolish Questions. (Example: Satan will try to drive us to foolish conclusions and will even urge us to foolish actions).

Think of the real you! Job knew he had a living Redeemer—Job 19:25. Job knew the future was bright in spite of his suffering. Like Job we can rest our future in the wounded hands of Christ.

Do you know Christ as your Redeemer today? You can Come and receive Christ as your personal Savior and Redeemer.
