To my new family,

Bringing me home as part of your family is going to be a lot of fun, but it is also going to be a lot of responsibility. I need to be vaccinated regularly, fed nutritional food (we recommend Loyall puppy food) for the first year, and given plenty of fresh drinking water.

I also love lots of attention so give me lots of that good lovin’

. Please don’t over feed me because in the long run it will only cause me problems. I also need my teeth brushed and a bath is always good.

Please feel free to treat me as one of the family & I promise to give you all of my love & devotion. Especially while I am little, let lots of people love me & cuddle me. The playful part is probably best with adults because some children get a little too rough & could make me snappy.

Your loving new friend

P.S. I will make a few mistakes but please have a little patience

& I will try to do better.

Health Guarantee & Puppy Care instructions

Breeder certifies that this puppy is a purebred dachshund from a registered litter with AKC or CKC.

We guarantee that every puppy is healthy when it leaves here. If you take your puppy to the vet within 3 business days after you pick up the puppy, and the vet finds any unforeseen congenital abnormality, we will allow you to pick out a different puppy, as available. Our puppies have not been exposed to any infectious diseases here. If your puppy is exposed to an infectious disease after it leaves here, this is not covered under our health guarantee. Please pay particular attention to this if you have recently lost a dog or puppy. We have no control over what a puppy is exposed to after it leaves our home. We also cannot guarantee that your puppy will never develop any health problems, just like a pediatrician cannot guarantee that a child will never develop any health problems in the future. Some things are just not able to be predicted. Our parents are free of diseases, disorders and health problems, or we would not breed them. That means that puppies are less likely to develop problems.

Please be aware that vaccinations sometimes fail for various reasons, and a dog does not develop full immunity to some diseases until they are a full year old and have had all their puppy shots including a booster at one year old. The ideal method of guarding your new puppy against illnesses is to keep it away from other puppies less than a year old, older dogs that have not had vaccines, any dog who is ill until your puppy has had its final 1 year booster. This may not be possible or practical in all cases.

Being informed is always a good idea, so check with your veterinarian. Think of him as your puppy’s pediatrician.

Your puppy comes with a shot record envelope with any shots & worming already performed. We guarantee your puppy is up to date on vaccinations and worming’s to date of age. Always bring this with you to your vet so it can be maintained.

Buyer assumes all responsibility (100%) of all costs & care of the dog after sale & during the span of ownership: vet bills, testing, housing, food etc.

If the puppy is found to be unhealthy within the 3 business day period, breeder must be notified immediately. A copy from the vet with full description of illness is required. Puppy will only be replaced. No vet bills will be refunded at any time for any reason. Breeder does not cover for any internal parasites (coccidia, giardia, worms etc.) once the puppy leaves our home. Many are very common & can occur at anytime, usually brought on by stress, & are very treatable. Hernia’s and alopcia are also not covered, as they also can occur at anytime.

Breeder cannot guarantee adult size, color, coat, confirmation or temperament

Dachshund’s backs are somewhat fragile, keep an eye on too rough a play for that reason. Also jumping from something too high can weaken the bones in their legs as they are growing. High jumping can also cause an umbilical hernia which usually goes away but is better to be prevented. If your puppy insists on getting up on something & jumping, try setting up pillow stairs or something else creative. Also maintain a healthy weight. Never feed people food or table scraps. We feed approximately 1 measuring cup of high quality dry dog food per day.

We monitor all of our puppies on a constant daily basis, and we are quite aware of the health and well-being of each dog. Our pregnant females are pampered, spoiled and given extra supplements etc. to make sure each are healthy.
