I. Announcements…

  • In the process of collecting Williamsburg Field Trip forms and money- highly encouraging lots of chaperones
  • ½ day CC Reading training on Monday afternoon
  • Start sending bus lists to the office at the end of the day

II. Kid Talk

  • Katie is going to be pulling the kids she tested to give another test for AIG qualification

III. Planning/ Curriculum…

  • Discussed how to meet the needs of the high kids during reading- we wanted to have a plan for them to be able to discuss their independent reading books in a literature circle, but held accountable- Katie helped us think of a graphic organizer where they could jot down connections to other people’s books as they listen to discussion- will focus on higher level thinking skills
  • Discussed Performance Matters- logged into the system to show everyone how to do it- have begun the process of completing them, but know it will take some time- Brad will complete his reading objectives and then Jen will fill in the writing and math objectives- Amy will complete her reading objectives and then Liz will fill in the math objectives- Liz will complete her reading objectives and Amy will fill in the writing objectives
  • In AIG, they will focus on data collection and analysis for math and focusing on non-fiction in language arts, incorporating research skills and presentation skills
  • Decimals are a critical area in math- we are currently beginning multiplying and dividing decimals- planning on next team time being Wednesday, December 5th to focus on multiplying and dividing decimals

Critical Questions of a Professional Learning Community:

What is it we expect our students to learn?

How will we know when they have learned it?

How will we support them when they don’t learn it?

How will we respond when they already know it?
