DATE / TIME: Saturday and Sunday, October 7TH & 8TH

Warm-ups start at 8:00 a.m. Meet starts at 9:00 a.m.

TYPE OF MEET: Short Course 25 yards.

FACILITIES & Outdoor eight (8) lane 25 yard pool with non-turbulent lane ropes.

TIMING: Electric timing with two push buttons per lane as primary system and two digital watches per lane with a watch on first place in each heat. This is an outdoor heated facility.

RULES: Current USA rules will govern the conduct of the meet. Entry times to be submitted in short course yards only. NT’S will be seeded last.

CONDUCT OF The meet is limited by the four hour rule. Consequently, the 100 events may be limited

MEET: and at the end of the meet, those who desire may be offered to swim those events.

EVENTS: All events will be timed finals with no qualifying times.

REGISTRATION: All participants must be registered USA Swimming athletes. If the birthday of a contestant is on the first day of the meet, this will determine the age group in which the swimmer shall compete for the meet. “Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or much start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmers legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.”

No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in article 302.

ENTRIES: A swimmer may enter three (3) individual events per day plus relays. Entries to be submitted on Hy-tek program. If you select e-mail, you must follow up with a hard copy. There is an entry limit of 350 swimmers, per session. We will allow on deck registration as long as a new heat does not have to be formed.

ENTRY FEE: Individual events $3.50 & $11.00 surcharge; $8.00 relays. All entry fee checks must be made payable to Hurricane Swim Club Parent’s Association. Heat sheets will be handled electronically. Please print before you come to the meet. A $3.00 per swimmer fee has been added to the swimmer surcharge.

ELIGIBILITY: This meet is open to all USA registered swimmers. Swimmers with a disability as described in the USA Swimming Technical Rules, Article 105, shall be permitted to enter their age group in any meet sanctioned by Louisiana Swimming, Inc.

SCORING: Individual points will be awarded as follows: 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

AWARDS: Individual events: Medals: 1st through 3rd; Ribbons: 4th through 8th;

Relays: Medals: 1st; Ribbons: 2nd through 8th.

OFFICIALS: All teams attending this meet are asked to supply a list of certified officials who will be attending this meet and sessions they will be able to work.

TIMERS: All teams will be required to assist with timers for use during the meet.

WARMUP: USA rules require that all warm-ups be closely supervised. Each lane must be supervised by a team representative who is a member of USA Swimming. They must be at the diving end of the pool. Diving is from the block end only.
