College of Humanities and Social Science International Committee: Remit, Membership, and meeting dates 2008-09

Remit

·  To provide a forum for the discussion of issues relating to the recruitment and care of international students, within the context of the University’s international strategies on international student recruitment.

·  To ensure provision of appropriate information and advice for international students on the College’s web pages, and links with appropriate University web pages and in paper based publications.

·  To raise the College’s international profile in order to ensure the College recruits full targets of international students as determined by the College Planning and Resources Committee.

·  To handle matters relating to full fee International Students, part year and full year Visiting Students, ERASMUS and SOCRATES exchange students.

·  To report to relevant College Committees (Admissions & Recruitment; Planning & Resources).

Specific aims

·  To create and regularly review and refine an effective College international strategy, ensuring that is well integrated with the University’s.

·  To provide co-ordinating and integrative support for international marketing and recruitment across the range of work of the College, Schools, International Office and Communications and Marketing.

·  To set targets for international recruitment; to monitor and deliver results.

·  To review all marketing materials (web and paper based); to continually analyse and improve these; to improve internal and external communication.
