HSEQ Supervisor

Davidson in partnership with Goldwind Australia are looking to find an experienced renewable energy professional to work as the Health, Safety & Environment Supervisor to oversee the end-to-end construction of Goldwind’s Stockyard Hill Wind Farm which will be entering construction in 2017, located approximately 100km from Melbourne.

About the Project

In 2010, the Minister for Planning granted approval for 157 turbines at the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm and all of the associated planning permits. Pending final acceptance of a reviewed planning application, construction should start in Q3 of 2017. The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm site is located 35km west of Ballarat. The project would be the largest wind farm in the southern hemisphere and is expected to generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 326,000 average Victorian homes annually.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Construction Manager, the Site HSE Supervisoris responsible for overseeing the execution of all work health, safety, and environmental aspects and processes at the site.

This is an integral role in the project team and your primary focus will be on ensuring and enforcingcompliance of subcontractors against all project agreements relating to health, safety and environment. You will also establish and manage the health, safety and environmental management systems at the site that are required to deliver the project.

During the pre-construction phase the role will be based in Goldwind’s Melbourne office and then on-site once construction begins.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Construction Manager with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective site HSEQ processesand procedures to ensure that the project objectives are met
  • Provide specialised HSEQ support and advice to the project team for the duration of the project
  • Establish and implement WHS management systems for each site
  • Supervise the project H&S coordinators and environmental compliance officers.
  • Deliver risk assessment workshops for the project, safety group meetings, toolbox talks, safety information sessions
  • Develop, implement and manage the project specific HSEQ documentation
  • Lead investigations relating to HSE incidents, including reporting to management, tracking and closing out associated actions
  • Manage all project inductions
  • Implement audit and inspection schedules
  • Maintain site HSE documentation

About You

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Current drivers licence
  • Construction white card

Desirable:

  • Tertiary Qualifications
  • Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Diploma of Quality
  • Working at Heights
  • Cert IV in Training, Assessment and Evaluation
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • VIC Return to Work Coordinator accreditation
  • Qualifications in the electrical, electronic or mechanical fields highly desired

Work Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Min 3-5 year’s relevant experience in a HSEQ Supervisory Position including leading a team
  • Contractor Management experience (civil and electrical construction)
  • Auditing experience - AS4801, ISO 14001 & ISO9001
  • Extensive codes of practice and Australian Standards knowledge AS4801 WHSMS, 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS,
  • Previous experience working on large scale construction projects

Desirable:

  • Passion for renewable energy
  • Experience working within the wind/renewableindustry or energy infrastructure
  • Dealing with Regulators (Worksafe Victoria and Environmental Protection Authority)
  • Experience dealing with injury management and industrial relations
  • Experience in working in remote locations
