(3) Begin expressing habitual events in the past by using the imperfect tense; recognize different conjugations.

(1)  Warm-up Activity – Fill-in the-blank: Warm-ups should be written on same sheet of paper throughout the week, will be collected at the end of the week: For today’s warm-up, # your paper 1-5. For each #, indicate the correct imperfect conjugation of the verb infinitive provided in parenthesis at the end of each sentence.

Por ejemplo: Típicamente, me despertaba a las diez y media durante las vacaciones de Navidad. (despertarse)

(4)  Pair Practice: Exercises 14-15 pg. 195 (One sheet of paper per pair)

Exercise 14 pg. 195 – Fill in the blank; you do not need to write out the full sentence. First, choose the appropriate verb give the context. Use Word Reference to determine the meaning of the verbs that you do not recognize.

Then, conjugate the verb correctly according to the subject of the sentence (yo, tu, el/ella, nosotros, etc.) using the imperfect tense conjugations, provided above.

Exercise 15 pg. 195 – With a partner, write out an A/B dialogue for six activities provided in Dialogue bubble A, asking if your used to do them.

Student B answers the questions affirmatively or negatively, using one of the adverbs provided in Dialogue bubble B.

Use Word Reference to determine the meaning of any verbs or adverbs that you do not recognize.

(5)  In-class time to work on Final Draft of ‘De niño, ¿Cómo eras?’ personal narrative (PPT/Poster/Flipbook - Use the following as a guide/example to follow. Be sure that each page/slide of your Powerpoint/Poster/Flipbook addresses each of the following questions. This assignment is work 25 points, and is due Thurs/Fri, April 20th/21st

1.  ¿Como eras? – Describe what you used to be like when you were little (personality/appearance) using at least 5 descriptive adjectives

Yo era alto, generoso, inteligente, simpático, y atrevido.

2.  ¿Cómo era tu familia? – Describe what your family used to be like when you were little:

- 3 descriptive adjective to describe your whole family

- 3 verbs/activities you all used to like to do together

- 3 adjectives to describe a member of your family

- 3 adjectives used to describe another member of your family

Por ejemplo:

-  De niño, mi familia era muy unida, chistosa, y activa.

-  Mi familia le gustaba ir a la playa, salir a comer, y jugar juegos de mesa (board games).

-  Mi madre era cariñosa, exigente, y cómica.

-  Mi padre era exitoso, ocupado, e inteligente.

3.  ¿Qué te gustaba hacer en tus ratos libres?

En mis ratos libres, me gustaba leer, dibujar, escuchar música, mirar películas con mis amigos, y cantar.

4.  En la escuela primaria ¿qué era tu materia favorita? ¿Por qué?

Mi materia favorita era español porque hablaba con mis amigos en clase. Me gustaba la clase de español porque era interesante.

5.  ¿Participabas en un club o deporte? ¿Cuál(es)?

Sí, yo participaba en la banda en marcha.
