How to Use Questions Created in PowerPoint with CPS Clickers
**Note: Using PowerPoint allows you to use hyperlinks, audio, video, and the Microsoft Equation Editor in your questions. These features are not available in CPS at this time.
1. Create your questions in PowerPoint, one question per slide. It is helpful to number each question so you are sure it matches the answer you will enter into CPS.
2. Use CPS to create a Fast Grade for your PowerPoint questions. Simply create a new fast grade with the same name as the PowerPoint, indicating the type of question and answer for each question.
3. Import the PowerPoint into the Lesson Tab of CPS. To do this, first click on the Lesson tab. Next, right click on the Presentation folder. Choose Add File. Browse to the location where your PowerPoint is located. Select the PowerPoint and click Open. The PowerPoint will import into this folder.
4. Select the correct Delivery Options. To do this, click on the Settings menu, then choose Delivery Options. On the screen, uncheck the box that says “Show Large Screen.” Click OK.
5. To Engage the lesson, first choose the Fast Grade you created from the list. Next, click the Engage Lesson icon. Choose your settings to engage the lesson (i.e. Teacher Managed Assessment, select the correct class, etc.). Click on the Show button in the lower left corner. A dialog box similar to the one below will appear.
6. Drag the PowerPoint from the Presentation folder into the box titled presentation. Then, click Start.
7. The PowerPoint will show on top. The CPS toolbar will show below. Move through your PowerPoint using the arrow keys. When you get to a question that you want to ask the students, Click Next on the CPS toolbar, then Start. The polling squares will appear. When students are finished answering, choose End on the CPS toolbar. Move to the next question in PowerPoint by using the arrow keys and repeat the process.
8. Continue this process until all questions have been answered. When you are finished, click Close on the CPS toolbar. This will return you to CPS to run reports on the lesson.
