Math Enrichment SUMMER REQUIREMENTS for 6th grade:

During the summer each student should become familiar with their on-line math account at and begin practicing the basic math skills studied in 5th grade which are listed below. These basic skills are the foundation upon which our middle level math program is built and essential skills for students to know in order to succeed in math in the future. Although calculators can be a very helpful tool, students should be encouraged to complete the skills below without the aid of a calculator. This is to encourage and strengthen a student’s number sense ability and practice of basic math fact. All students should be proficient in the times tables from 1 through 12. Please work with your daughter to help her master these.

All Sixth grade students are required to log into their IXL Math enrichment account several times over the summer weeks to work on the 5th grade basic math skills listed below: Students need to monitor their success in mastering a particular skill by viewing their smart score while they practice. Each student hasa goal to reach a Smarts Score =90 for each IXL skill listed below before the end of August. A summer enrichment grade will be given to ALL STUDENTS within the first full week of school based on their summer achievement. Students will also be accessed in September on their multiplication facts from zero to twelve.
