HOW TO HOST RACV COACHES IN THE FIELD WORKSHOP 2018

Applying for a workshop

  • Complete the ‘Application to Host a ‘RACV Coaches in the Field Workshop Form’ and send to Netball Victoria’s Coach Development Coordinator - Pathways at least six weeks prior to the requested dates for the workshop.
  • Ensure that all details are completed including three possible dates for the workshop as well as the workshop topics you would like presented.
  • The Coach Development Coordinator - Pathways will confirm workshop details in writing.
  • The cost of participating in the CIF workshops are kept at an absoluteminimum, withparticipantsonly required to pay $35.00 to attend each workshop.

Who organises what?

  • Netball Victoria:Coach Developer, Coach Developer payment, travel & accommodation, resource material
  • Workshop Coordinator:Venue – must be indoors if possible and should be booked for a maximum of 3 hours if holding a single workshop or 7 hours if holding two workshops.

Ensure the venue has an area for coaches to sit and has a basic first aid kit on hand, including ice. If the workshop is for a full day, the coordinator is required to arrange lunch for the Coach Developer.

Please note: Netball Victoria do not be reimburse for catering.

  • Association:Payment for all costs incurred for the venue hire. Please note: Netball Victoria will not be contributing towards venue hire. Lunch for the Coach Developer if the workshop is for a full day

Prior to Workshop

  • Confirmation details are sent to the designated coordinator once the workshop date has been confirmed.
  • The coordinator can direct interested applicants to the coaching calendar on Netball Victoria’s website for online enrolment.
  • MINIMUM number of participants for all workshops is 15 and the maximum is 30
  • The Coach Development Coordinator - Pathways will contact the coordinator regarding final participant numbers and will then forward the workshop registration sheet and any resource material.
  • The coordinator should contact the Coach Developer prior to the workshop to confirm what equipment will require on the day i.e. balls, cones, bibs, whiteboard etc.
  • Tea/coffee and catering is optional and must be organised by the association if they so choose.

During the Workshop

  • The coordinator MUST be present for the duration of the workshop(s).
  • Mark participant attendance and confirm all listed details are correct.
  • Advice accredited coaches to complete their logbook with details of session and give to coordinator or Coach Developer for signing.
  • Ensure course material sent by Netball Victoria is distributed at the workshop.
  • Organise catering (if applicable) and lunch for the Coach Developer if the workshop is for the full day.

Conclusion of Workshop

  • Forward the completed registration sheet, evaluation forms and all unused course materials to the Coach Development Coordinator - Pathwaysto be received no later than 7 days after the workshop.

APPLICATION TO RACV HOST COACHES IN THE FIELD WORKSHOP

The purpose of the Coaches in the Field Program is to support the existing National Coach Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) by delivering coach education workshops to coaches of all levels throughout Victoria.

AT LEAST SIX WEEKS NOTIFICATION MUST BE GIVEN FOR EVERY WORKSHOP

  • Coach Development Coordinator - Pathways at Netball Victoria will liaise directly with coordinators regarding dates.
  • Any affiliated Association (or their member clubs) may host a Coaches in the Field workshop.
  • Workshops are 3 hours in duration (unless otherwise specified)
  • $35.00 per coach. All coaches need to Current Netball Victoria Members

There are thirteen workshops available, including eight sessions open to all coaches:

  • Space Awareness, Timing and Reading the Game
  • Getting More Out of Your Drills
  • Footwork
  • Ball Handling
  • General Attacking Skills
  • General Defending Skills
  • Program Planning
  • Lesson Planning

The other five workshops are aimed specifically at Development/Level 1 (or higher) accredited coaches training players 17 years. They are:

  • Defending in the Goal Circle
  • Attacking in the Goal Circle – The Individual Skills of the Goaler
  • Specialist Centre Court Skills Part 1
  • Specialist Centre Court Skills Part 2
  • Attacking in the Goal Circle as a Unit – GA & GS Working Together

APPLICATION TO HOST RACV COACHES IN THE FIELD WORKSHOP

AT LEAST SIX WEEKS NOTIFICATION MUST BE GIVEN FOR EVERY WORKSHOP

Approval of workshop dates will depend on Coach Developer availability, clashes with Netball Victoria eventsand other courses scheduled within the same Region.

The Coach Development Coordinator - Pathways at Netball Victoria will liaise directly with Workshop Coordinator regarding dates.
