FOURSIGHT is a 2 player board game so easy a child can play, yet challenging for adults as well. Strategy starts with the first move as the 2 players strive to get 4 markers in a tow: 4 in one ring, 4 in one pie section, or 4 in a diagonal spiral. Learn to think ahead, to anticipate your opponent's moves. Develop life skills helpful to us all at home, school, or work. This enjoyable game strengthens logical thinking and pattern recognition, or the spatial intelligence of Multiple Intelligence Theory. You'll have to use FOREsight to get four in a row in FOURSIGHT.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Playing board (paper)
  • Playing pieces (or a pencil)

Foursight playing board

Make the playing board as shown. It can be drawn on a piece of paper. Draw a circle for the center and color it in. Then draw 4 concentric circles around this center. Leave enough space between the lines for the playing pieces. Draw lines dividing the board into 8 pie sections as shown.

Get 32 playing pieces: 16 in each of 2 colors for the 2 players. You can use small checkers, colored beans, or anything else available. You can also just make marks with a pencil.

Decide which player will go first. Each player takes a turn placing one piece on a space. Continue playing until one gets 4 pieces in a row, or the board is filled in a stalemate with no winner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some strategies: Try to get 3 in a ring open at both ends.
  • Try 2 spirals crossed in opposite directions.
  • 2 opposite spirals ending at the same space at the inner or outer ring will have two rings that can become 3 in a row with one more piece.
