19TH ANNUAL CHARITY GALA

2008 BLACK TIES & BASEBALL CAPS

On the Field at Minute Maid Park

HOUSTON, TX(July 2008) ...... The Houston Astros Wives 19th Annual Black Ties & Baseball Caps Gala will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2008, on the field at Minute MaidPark, 501 Crawford St. (77002). Led by Co-Chairs Marcia Geary and Heather Sampson, the event will begin at 6:30 PM with a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and a live auction.

The annual fundraiser benefits the Houston Area Women’s Center. Since the first Gala in the early 1990s, Astros Wives have raised more than $3 Million Dollars for the Center which provides a safe environment for victims of domestic and sexual violence in Houston.

Honorary Chairmen for the evening are Drayton and Elizabeth McLane. Hall of Fame Broadcaster Milo Hamilton will handle the emcee duties and the Auctioneer is Vikki Vines. The 2008 fundraiser has been generously been underwritten by Continental Airlines, Gregg Perkin/Engineering Partners, Int’l., Beverly Wren, Greg Miller/Pipeline Inspections, Dee Dee and Wallis Marsh, Kellie and John Weinzierl, Steve and Sheila Miller Foundation and Mrs. Sybil Roos.

♦Mickey Mantle Memorabilia– autographed and framed authentic jersey from the

New York Yankees Hall-of-Famer

♦Dining at Del Frisco’s – enjoy a unique, once-in-a-lifetime dining experience with Geoff and Marcia Geary and Heather and Chris Sampson at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House. A total of 24 guests (including the Astros couple) will be privy to a six-course food and wine pairing prepared by Executive Chef Steve Haug.

♦Houston Sports– four tickets in the General Manager’s Box to a Houston Astros home game and meet GM Ed Wade and Manager Cecil Cooper; four center court tickets to a 2008-2009 Houston Rockets home game; four tickets to a Houston Texas home game and meet GM Rick Smith on the field prior to the game.
