Summer is around the corner!!!! The scorching summer wind & unrelenting heat of May & June makes us all look forward to the long summer vacation, a time for relaxation and enjoyment. So, students sit back, relax, watch entertaining & informative movies, visit friends & relatives. As important as it is to rest & enjoy, it is also important to continue to learn. So the Holiday homework has been designed in such a way so as to channelize the boundless energy of children, to enrich their enquiring mind to inspire creativity. Our main aim is to see the children in a radiant form: a source of bliss, energy and light.

ENGLISH

1) Visit any house being constructed in your neighbourhood. Make a list of tools used by workers building the house.

2) Imagine a 5-day journey by train to a place of your choice. Write a Diary Entry of what you did or saw each day.

3) Different People – Different Habits

Work on how different people live

Ø  Collect pictures from net/ newspaper/ magazines from different places. They could be from different parts of India or the world.

Ø  Be sure you write the name of the country/ area/ state, or any other interesting information –about dress, food habits, customs- before you cut out the pictures.

4) Varun is unable to take part in the Inter Class Cricket Tournament as he has sprained his ankle. Write a letter to the coach that he could not continue the match.

5) Imagine you are Edison. You had to work very hard preparing for your experiment. The experiment was a great success. Write a Diary Entry on behalf of Thomas Edison describing his great satisfaction and joy at the success of the experiment.

6) Read about how different festivals are celebrated in the north eastern parts of India.

7) Read any two chapters from your Literature Reader and write in your own words (not more than 150 words).

8) Revise whole syllabus done in the class so far.
