1.  If you were told by your parents that you beautiful, smart, and capable of achieving your dreams, take one step forward.

2.  In the history of the U.S. few white people have been convicted and executed for killing a person of color. All white persons take one step forward.

3.  African American females have a consistently higher rate of stoke, heart disease, or breast cancer. All A-Americans take one step backward.

4.  According to a 2006 study, African American males are almost 8 times as likely to be a murder victim. African American males take two steps backwards.

5.  Women have a longer life expectancy than men. If you are a woman, step forward.

6.  The unemployment rate in the U.S. for African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans is consistently much higher than white Americans. White Americans take one step forward.

7.  According to a 2008 study, the high school drop out rate for Latinos was 19%, for Native Americans it was 14.6%, for African Americans it was 9.9%. White and Asian Americans step one step forward.

8.  If you may walk down the street in most communities without the hesitancy that you may be harassed by police because of your race or ethnicity, take one step forward.

9.  If you have ever got a good paying summer or after school job because of a friend or a family member, take one step forward.

10.  All those who are educated in school where the vast majority of the faulty members and staff were of your ethnic group or race, take one step forward.

11.  If when you walk into an expensive store, the owner suspects you are going to steal something because of your race, take one step back.

12.  If, prior to your 18th birthday, you took a vacation outside of the U.S., to a destination other than Mexico, take one step forward.

13.  If, prior to your 18th birthday, you have seen the ocean, take one step forward.

14.  All those students who were given a car by their families, take one step forward.

15.  If you often have to pass through unsafe areas because they are difficult to avoid in order to get where you need to go, take one step backward.

16.  If your parents had to sit you down when you were young and explain to you “this is what people might call you, and this is how they may treat you, and this is how you should deal with it” because they knew you were going to encounter it, take one step backward.

17.  African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, and Women have been denied to vote in the U.S. White males take one step backward.

18.  If your family would be able to help you with your college tuition, take one step forward.

19.  If school is not in session during your religious holidays, take one step forward.

20.  If you have ever had to attend school on an important religious holiday or cultural activity, take one step backward.

21.  According to a 1992 study, Hispanic children are three times more likely than White children to have no medical coverage. Even though African Americans are more likely than White children to be covered through publically subsidized health care programs, they are still twice as likely to be uninsured when compared to White children. All Latinos and Americans take one step back.

22.  If you were able to afford to take an ACT prep class, take one step forward.

23.  If your school has AP classes, take one step forward.

24.  If you were ever told you need to speak better English take one step backward.

25.  If your family has ever received welfare or other government aid for over a year, take one step backward.

26.  If you have had significant personal experiences with drug or alcohol abuse, take one step forward.

27.  If you have had braces, take one step forward.

28.  If you or your parents have 50 books in your household, take one step forward.

29.  If you were raised in a how where the local daily newspaper was delivered, take two steps forward. Remember: the paper is likely in English and costs money.

30.  If you can watch most programs on television and see members of your race or ethnicity, take two steps forward.

31.  If you can commonly see people of your race or ethnicity on television or movies in roles you consider degrading, take one step back.

32.  All those who were raised in a rented home or apartment, take one step back.

33.  All those you have a parent who completed college, take one step forward.

34.  If you were raised in a community where the vast majority of the police, politicians, and government workers were of you ethnic group or race, take one step forward.

35.  If you studied the history and culture of your ethnic ancestors in elementary AND secondary school, take one step forward.

36.  If you started school speaking another language than English, take one step backward.

37.  All those who have ancestors who because of their race or ethnicity were denied full rights under the constitution, denied citizenship, denied purchase of property or goods, denied equal access to educational opportunities or dealt with segregation or institutionalized slavery, take two steps backward.

38.  If you have a close relative in prison, take one step backward.

39.  Native Americans have the highest rate of infant and mother mortality in the U.S. All Native Americans take two steps backward.

40.  African Americans, Native Americans, Asians, and Hispanics were all slaves in the U.S. All those whose ancestors were not members of these groups, take two steps forward.

41.  All those who have ever been denied a job because of your race or ethnicity or offered a job because your race or ethnicity helps the employer meet affirmative action quotas, take one step backward.

42.  All those who have parents with professional careers such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc., take one step forward.

43.  According to a 1996 study, or every dollar earned by white men, women earn only 73 cents. African Americans earn 65 cents; and Hispanic women earn only 57 cents to the dollar. All white males take a step forward.
