PTO UPDATES SEPTEMBER 13TH 2015

Greetings Lynnewood Families:

Hopefully everyone had a SMOOTH start to the school year this week.

A great night was had by all at the Annual Back-To-School Picnic on Friday night! We had great weather and a great turnout! There was a visit from the Lynnewood Lion, Dancing, face painting, water ice, and tons of fun. Be sure to check out our new BUDDY BENCH that we placed on the playground in honor of Mrs. Mingey, for her years of dedication to the Lynnewood Community!

Back to School Nights---IMPORTANT!(Grade 3-5 night got switched AGAIN!-- see below)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need VOLUNTEERS! Please go to the "volunteer" tab above to help out in any way you can. There will be many opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year, but right now we are in need of HR parents (3 per classroom), art in the classroom volunteers, art room helpers, and fifth grade parent volunteers.

If you are planning on volunteering, you will need to get your clearances in ASAP. This is a new STATE mandated requirement for all school volunteers. Please see the "Volunteer" tab above for more info on how to get these clearances.

HOMEROOM PARENTS NEEDED:Becoming a Homeroom Parent allows you to experience first-hand your child’s interactions with their teacher. Homeroom parents need to be available to help plan and host classroom parties, create Staff Appreciation Day posters/gifts and assist PTO with email communications. Your child will light up with pride because you are sharing these special times with him/her! To volunteer, please go to the following signup genius:

PTO DUES-- $10: Please pay your PTO dues ASAP. Please send in your check for $10, written out to "Lynnewood PTO", and send in with your child. The form can be found above in the "forms" tab. This will ensure that you receive a Lynnewood Directory at Back to School Night

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for Lynnewood Elementary 2015 - 2016 Science Explorers After-School Clubs.

Please visit the Science Explorer website at: the specific topics, dates and details for Lynnewood Elementary.

The Tuesday club sessions will be for grades 3-5, and the Thursday club sessions will be for grades 1-3. Please note that this year we are allowing exceptions to the grade level designations in order to accommodate siblings in different grades who want to attend the club together (i.e., 2nd and 4th graders). Please also note that Science Explorers gives a 5% discount when 3 or more clubs are registered for at once. Contact Danielle Vitale at with any questions

HARVEST HUSTLE MARK YOUR CALENDARS OCTOBER 24TH

Our first Annual 5K run and 1K walk will take place Sat Oct 24th

This is our biggest/main FUNdraiser of the year, and is taking the place of our Walkathon.

Remember, this is our biggest FUNdraiser of the year! The PTO sponsors so many awesome programs throughout the year, and we cannot do it without your help.
