Mascot presentation & paper (essay 4)
Length: (Essay) 2 ¼-3 pages, typed, double spaced
(Presentation) 10-15 minutes
(Individual Evaluation) 1-2 pages, typed, double spaced
Due: Rough draft for peer review Friday, March 18
Final draft and Individual Evaluation Wednesday, March 23
Instructions: Your group will prepare a presentation designed to pitch a new mascot for a product. The class and I will act as the product owners. Your group’s job is to convince us that your mascot is the best way to sell our product. Also, your group will prepare a written version of your sales pitch. Each group member must also write an evaluation of the project. This evaluation should reflect on the work done by the group.
Requirements:
1. The mascot must be a new creation. The product may or may not be original.
2. Define the target audience for the product and the best media to use to reach that audience (TV, magazine, billboard, etc.). Be specific—when would your mascot’s commercial air, on what channel, what time, etc.)
3. Use at least one visual aid. Create a possible print ad or storyboard for a TV spot, prepare a skit, dress as the mascot, etc.
Goal: Your group’s success depends on each member’s participation. A successful presentation/paper will show consideration of the consumer audience’s needs and desires and an effective way to appeal to that audience.
